Thursday Pops!
And to go along with that football, I got my popcorn ready. I didn't make it. Not this time anyway. I stopped at a gourmet popcorn and candy store called Yummi Pop. I'd read about them in the a suburb news paper and turns out Yummi Pop is just a couple minutes from my job. It's run by two ladies, I think they're sisters and been open for a year. The cool thing is, they let you sample popcorn before you buy. Just to give you an example, I bought Dill Pickle for a chum of mine, and for me? Loaded Baked Potato. Kid you not! These ladies know their corn!
So on this first night of NFL football 2011, got my popcornm a cat to pet and it's First Down and a million yards to go.
Gotta love it and I do!

Sunday Later....
Nonetheless. Cowboys WON today over arch nemesis the New York Football Giants. This was the 1st game after the coach change during the week. Felt so good to taste some victory with the buffalo wings. Sports radio will be of the positive this week--and after the Cowboys going 1-7, it's ALL GOOD.
Just like this week is going be...ENJOY!

Calm Before Friday
Things are calm after yesterday's floods and tornadoes--remnents from Hurricane Hermine. I could go on, like I think I saw Movie Man in the Wal-mart parking lot walking to he store, while I looked for a parking spot. I wonder if it really was. We've not seen him since December. Yes, I could talk about a Season of Separation.
I really don't want to.
I could go on how I have to write some 2100 word paper for school due in a week, about my Personal Model of Helping.....my what? Yea, I gotta learn what that is.
Really don't want to talk about that either.
I could go on about New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings played the first game of this new NFL season tonight, yet the REAL first NFL game of the season is between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins Sunday night.
Hmm. Well---maybe, but I don't wanna talk about that either---yet.
What I will say, the calm is after the storm.
It's almost Friday and I gotta have Bob Seger tell me about "Hollywood Nights"

Finally Friday

Sun Shines Down
GIDDY! Yes, we here in Dallas, are still a-buzz over the Cowboys. So NICE: 34-14 over the feared and dreaded Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Romo showed he came to play, while Donovan McNabb never got on track. I felt the Cowboys could/would win, yet I thought the game would be closer. It wasn't. And I'm glad. Next week, the Dallas Cowboys travel to Minnesota and the Land of Farve. The idol with his heir apparent. Let's get this week over and done so can get to the important stuff!! Almost Midnight Miles Madness
It's still Sunday, with just 53 minutes left of the day.Friday, November 6, 2009
And It Is...
The Weekend to see if my Iowa Hawkeyes can go 10-0 on Saturday. Then can Tony Romo and Roy Williams, of the Dallas Cowboys connect ALOT against the Donovan McNabb and the rest of the Eagles Sunday Night?
I'll consider to scrub everything for top to bottom, throw stuff from a back bedroom and maybe even do a bit of writing on the novel I say I want to write...
Hmm.
To savor ice cream and pet a cat may win out. You know...priorities!
In the meantime, gotta cue this song I STILL love 30 years later cuz it is: WEEKEND!

Sunday Short II
Sunday Short
Got my praise on today, at Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush. The message was how we know we are in our due time. And of course, one way especially hit me right upside my head. Oprah would call it an 'a-ha' moment. It is: When we don't push, pull or politic, the doors open.Monday, September 21, 2009
This Monday

Monday Now
On this Monday the buzz around town remains the Dallas Cowboy victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs. How Patrick Crayton showed us stuff we've not seen before. Had to DVR the game because I was still at church when it began. Drove home in the rain, which lengthened my usual 25 minute drive--and not once-.not ONCE did I tune my radio to the game! So difficult to do, I nearly downed my French Vanilla Cappuccino in one gulp. The Cowboys won. Just one game does not the season make--yet it was nice for the victory. A solid victory...Thursday, September 10, 2009
Thirsty Thursday and David Cassidy Too
First, looks like my lawn will get a good drink tonight. Clouds darken. It's a cool 85 degrees, plus I watered my own insides with my daily 74 ounces o' water. Stood full throttle on the scale this morning. Smiled because the number was alittle smaller. Now, I've not dropped all this weight. Nope, I'm honest, I've been quite lax in my exercise routine. So things haven't happened as quick as I'd like. I have cut out candy--notany peanut M & Ms is tough. Hmm. I may need to go back to what I did before--just munch a couple from a bag. Just to get a taste. That's how I weaned myself from taking on an entire pint of Blue Bell--which is the best ice cream in the land. Well, maybe in the south anyway. I still savor my Blue Bell--just not as much of it. There are some things I am NOT going without!
Another thirst is health reform. Since I've had this pesky little open heart surgery and must take a daily dose of coumadin, my health has taken on a whole new meaning, especially too, because I want my own business. I listened to President Barack Obama last night. I liked what he said. What bothers me is all the junk others are saying. Ya know my deal is, none of us know HOW this thing is gonna work. You can throw charts, grafts, labels of socialism and the cow jumped over the moon, yet NOBODY really knows how it will fare. What I like, somebody IS trying to do something about it. Stay tuned.
And my last thirst? The guilty pleasure of watching "Ruby and the Rockits" on ABCFamily Channel. The show itself--yea, well--I'm not 13, until I David Cassid pops on the screen OK--the guy will be be 60 on April 12. I can still see that 70's Keith Partridge shag he had. I do wish David were in the show more. Alas, it's not all about David, but Ruby. *sigh* Yes, his brother Patrick is attractive and looks so much like his mom, Shirley Jones--who appears next week shows up to meet the granddaughter she didn't know she had. My DVR will be ready! :)
To wrap all this up, it's Thursday and still summer, so cue up a 70's David Cassidy to remind us about Summer Days. And after that? A few spoonfuls of Blue Bell Strawberry Cheesecake beckon me as I watch a bit of the first game of the NFL season--just to tie me over until the REAL game on Sunday: Dallas and Tampa Bay...Thirst ON!

In a Monday NFL Style
The questions of :
How did Tony Romo fare withOUT Jessica Simpson or T.O. Owens?
Did Felix The Cat Jones pick up where he left off prior to injury?
Did Roy Williams prove WHY the Dallas Cowboy traded for him from Detroit?
Did the Cowboys claim victory?
Should be answered.
In a Monday, we'll know.
As for this Monday, it's Labor Day. And this is about the most labor I'll do--except to remember a once upon a time moment for the Dallas Cowboys.
In a Monday, the road to the same want to be moment like in 1993 will have started again-
First and ten. Almost here. I'll still get my popcorn ready!

Saunter Saturday
Let me get this right. I drink my 74 ounces of water yesterday and somewhere along the way dog fighter Michael Vick signs on with the Philadelphia Eagles as back up QB. Sure, other folks that have broken the law, served time and got a second NFL chance Ray Lewis anyone? Even tho he didn't go to jail eventho he had serious charges against him-but did reach an out of court settlement.Thursday, April 16, 2009
