Monday Miffed

Yes, I still heart me some Dallas Cowboys-

However I still can't get over how and why they LOST!

Sure the game was a mess, yet they had WON the game until....

WOW. I still can't stand handle it. The had the game WON.

OK. It's Monday. I'm tired. I couldn't fall right asleep after the game was over

I tried to think of somebody to call. at almost 11pm at night. Those kinda calls are

Out of my repertoire.

So sometime after midnight, I fell asleep, which made me tired thru today.

I'm so beat now.

Did some school work and thought of the 2100 word paper on my personal model of helping due next Monday. Heck, that will wait until tomorrow. Then had a thought on a couple menfolk I know. Now, that makes me smile. And the wedding (not mine) I'm going to on Saturday and the bride just beamed today at work. Then I spoke of my novella to a couple folks...always good. Then....

I thought of the Dallas Cowboys and got miffed again. Only this time, I will not have a problem going to sleep. I'm taking lessons from this kitty:

I see an "A+" in my future....

Sunday Still

No Dallas Cowboys football today. As I script this, it's the 4th quarter of Colts-Jets. I know the Colts-Jets fan care, wish I did...

*Sigh*

In church today, Pastor Rickie Rush, of Inspiring Body of Christ Church, said rejection can be the best thing in the world to happen to us. Hmm. Dunno if I'm feeling all that. See, if Brett Favre and the Minneota Vickings hadn't rejected Miles, Tony, Marion and the rest of the Cowboys last week, The Cowboys would be playing against the Saints tonight--not Brett and Co.

Yea, yea, yea. I'm sure Pastor Rush meant other stuff than football. I mean, I personally thought of a few folks I care for very much and want them so much more in my life. Yet, the fact is, they really don't 'get me' right now. With the gifts I feel I can finally unleash--these folks would rather negate, not encourage, and be downright lazy. Yet, when they need a word of encouragement...Oh well, you do what you are called to do.

Another thing, Pastor Rush said the bigger the battle we go through, the better our future will be. Yes, OK, I know he didn't mean football, but in the Dallas Cowboys' case--maybe with the rejection of last week, especially after showing unknown strength at season's end, maybe...just maybe-the future will include the Super Bowl in 2011. Which, in reality would be a homegame for the Cowboys, since the game will be played here!

Hmm.

In the meantime, football for today continues. Plus the sun still shines. I need to get on and unwrap what He may have for me. My water boils for the penne pasta to be added and the Blue Bell Coffee Flavored Ice Cream stays solid in my freezer--for now.

Who has seen "Avatar"? And did you like it-honestly? I've yet to view it. Was told since I like "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" (not ALL the movies tho), I'd like "Avatar." Making all kinda crazy money, in what seems like a shorter time than "Titanic.'' James Cameron really doesn't need to work again.

And as I write this, the NY Jets took the lead over San Diego. A bit more football to watch, yet not the same and I'm blue, like those in "Avatar" Sure there's the Golden Globes, plus the Worst Cook in America, Jackson Dynasty and ...well, there is quite the cornucopia of TV, yet...

Gotta Do

I gotta do stuff before the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game. Do sense game will be lots tighter than last week. Yet Miles Austin, Marion Barber, Tony Romo and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys shall be victorious at game's end.

Yet, I'll be ticked at me if I ain't got this stuff done by kick off tonight like:

Unclog the vacuum cleaner

Wash my dishes (so wish I had a dishwasher besides my two hands)

Mop kitchen and bathroom floor

Go thru stuff in back bedroom to either GoodWill or toss

Throw out stuff from fridge if it's been there since I moved in 2008

Before I start all this, I gotta do pancakes.

Resolution Run Down

Yes, I drank my 74 ounces of water today. And I also told a couple chums one of my 20101 is:

Not to make the excuses of others justify why I don't do something.

For me, to follow my dreams aka to work on the gifts He gave me. This means alot. As much as I love my chums, I did/do make their excuses justify mine. I've not utilized my time well, especially when it comes to writing, because of this action. Can't change the past, yet I can make a difference for today and tomorrow. Chums' excuses assisted my self doubts to grow. Those doubts lead me to the nearest plate of dee-lishus fried onion rings instead of sliced fresh onions to waltz on my salad topped with Roasted Red Pepper Vinegarette salad dressing. One is dee-lish-US, while the other is dee-lish-US-y good for you. It can work.

Tis my main resolution. Hang tuff with that, I got it made.

Gotta put the trash by the curb and will do my best to leave some self doubt there too!

Tis the Season

Told my chums I thought the Dallas Cowboys could beat the undeafed New Orleans Saints. I admit, earlier today, for a moment or two, I thought the Cowboys wouldn't be able to pull off a victory.

And they did--at the Superdome. First time in 15 years.

Even when soon to be ex-kicker Nick Folk missed a sure-thing icing on the cake kick at the end.

Last week, DeMarcus Ware was carried off the field. . Strapped to a cart. Scary. Unsure of his condition.

Tonight, DeMarcus played-tough. Just like bright stars do.

Almost Midnight Miles Madness

It's still Sunday, with just 53 minutes left of the day.

Tonight I will sleep well because the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 20-16. Andy Reid made one too many challenges---and lost.

Marion Barber did his best runs-dragging Eagles along with him. His braids blew in the breeze. And the mighty Miles Austin makes just one catch-yet that catch is the one that sealed the win. Miles ran a Tony Romo pass in for the go-ahead touch down.

Just takes one.

The Dallas-Ft Worth Metrolplex will be in peace--until next Sunday, anyway.

How 'bout them Cowboys!

Sun Shine Day

Walked into a grocery store this afternoon, and saw not one, nor two, but THREE decorated and lit up Christmas Trees! What is UP with that? It' is about 75 degrees here--and I'm sorry, the Halloween CANDY isn't even all gone for the clearance bins yet!! UGH. Too bad Blue Bell Ice Cream wasn't on sale, then I remembered I had plenty in my freezer-My Blue Bell will make Christmas Five Minutes After Halloween more tolerable.

Get this, at Inspiring Body of Christ Church today, we all lifted our bibles to the music of "Beat It"--yes, MJ's song--however we said, "Read It." Trust me, it worked. On top of that, Pastor Rickie Rush spoke how sometimes when we hurt, we direct our pain to other people and focus on ourselves or even direct it towards God--which can make us bitter. The healing can hurt, yet the Holy Spirit soothes. The soothing feels nice.

And when the sun is gone for this day, I'll be plopped right in front of the TV to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles battle it for 1st place in the NFC East. Will Tony Romo and Roy Williams connect on passes--FINALLY? Will Miles Austin keep taking it to the house? Will Patrick Crayton prove once again, if a man loses 2 jobs, he proves WHY he is a star? Will Marion Barber realize I'm his biggest fan? Will Blue Bell's Coffee Flavored Ice Cream charm my tummy?

'cuse me, while I go enjoy this Sunday Sunshine before it disappears from view.

Sunday SunDOWN

It is 6:30 pm as I write this. Out my window all I see is a canvas of midnight black. Yea, we set the clocks last night. Is there STILL a reason for Standard and Daylight Savings Time? Like back 70 or so years ago? Why still NOW? Sure, it'll be lighter in the morning--yet there is something about the sky being dark by an eventual 5:00PM it seems. GRR.

Anyway.

Got my praise on today. The all-male choir praised and rocked and the spirit was felt through out that place. Pastor Rickie Rush, the Inspiring Body of Christ Church, said, "Change is a process, not an event." I don't always agree with what Pastor Rush says, although those words stuck with me. We need to take a wellness check and admit there's something wrong with US-seems to hold us back from blessings, while others seem to be able and get theirs---maybe something in our past. Gives me pause to ponder. I think of my mom's death when I was 13 and also the not so much encouragement received from my step-mother, when I wanted and needed a female roll model. All makes sense. Yep--to ponder and learn from.

So as the dark sky so early at night bums me, I see IOWA is #8 on Top 25. I believe they don't get enough credit. Sure, they may not be on Florida or 'bama's turf, however the QB threw 4 picks in one quarter and were behind 21-7. That same QB led the Iowa Hawkeyes to a 42-24 win in the next quarter. Even without the less than stellar officiating, would the score been that much different? Lou Holtz, on ESPN, said Iowa only impressed him with their win over Penn State! Gee, Lou--I thought good teams figure out a way to win. Stay tuned.

And my Dallas Cowboys won--soundly--over Seattle! Felt nice to watch. Miles Austin can smile for any time and I'd help Marion Barber braid his hair-anytime! coffee.

All in all--a great day. Sun did shine ALOT today. GORGEOUS. Now if you will excuse me, gotta try this Starbucks Mocha Frappucino ice cream which awaits in my freezer. Certainly, will aid in my being bummed of sky being dark by 6:30PM.

Made it through with a try on a new attitude. That all o' this is just temporary. Gotta keep it all in focus--since I do need bi-focals, we'll see how long that lasts! :)

Us Iowa Hawkeye fans still hummin' about their last, literally seconds win, while Us Dallas Cowboys fans are hummin' about our Boyz' win. We also ask WHERE has Miles Austin been? In two games, he's stats surpass that of Roy Williams who has played in 17 games. Stay tuned to that.

However, with the rain, I still got the trash by the curb, a cat ready to curl and the remote ready for me to punch to Dancing With The Stars! I so get off on this show! Oh, and the Blue Bell Cookies n Ice Cream is gonna help too. So 'cuse me while I go root for Donny Osmond, Michael Irvin and Mark Dascascos!

Miles Austin is the new hero of the Dallas Cowboy's OT win over the winless Kansas City Chiefs. Gotta admit Miles looked migthy good and I think Roy Williams may need to try just a little bit harder in practice..

And the day--GREAT message delivered by Rickie Rush, of the Inspiring Body of Christ Church, on the time God gets your ready, while Satan tries to keep you down. As with Fear. God doesn't give us fear, alas Satan uses it so we don't put our trust in The One who is there always. I think of when my mom passed when I was just 13, and of decisions I made, including those about Bear. God has always been there, yet I let fear over take me. And I would decide to do things myself-WRONG. GREAT message!

Now on this Sunday, as it swirls down, I know how good it will be to listen to sports radio for the next couple weeks, especially since the Cowboys have their bye week next Sunday. Miles Austin will have his fame and all La-Z-Boy QB's will have their say. Since a Cowboy victory is involved they can talk ALL they want!

I am blessed.

Monday Marvelous....

So that little game in Green Bay last night--heard tell about it, didn't you? First time EVER Dallas Cowboys won at Lambeau. Won quite sound. Granted, still a road to go before the Cowboys hoist up the Lombardi Trophy in February. That thought, along with the visible evidence displayed on the field make it just that much more sweet. Gotta love the 3-0--which is first time since 1976 (a very good year!--right, Movie Man?)

Take yonder look at this picture of Marion Barber and Miles Austin, from the Wisconsin State Journal, snapped by Steve Apps. Their celebration of Miles 52 yard touch down! Hmm. Kinda looks like they're ready for Dancing With The Stars (which I'm addicted to and hence will be glued to the TV tonight.)

So if you will excuse me. Need to take a quick walk. Gotta bask in this Cowboy victory as I warm up for Warren Sapp, 82 yr old Cloris Leachman and the rest of the Stars, begin their battle to be one with the dance tonight. Will any of them be able to leap or lift as high as Marion and Miles?
