Sunday is Super

OK--so the Dallas Cowboys aren't playing in this year's Super Bowl. However 2011's game could be considered a Home Game for da Boy and will , be played about 15 miles from me. Hey, I can put my prayer in early! As I script this, the game hasn't started yet. I decided to cheer for the Saints. After all the City of New Orleans has been thru and continues to go thru, I'd like to see the Saints hoist a Lombardi Trophy.

So, no Dallas Cowboys today, but a Dallas Cowboy is headed to Canton and the Hall of Fame:Emmitt Smith aka Dancing With the Stars Champ. The RB who broke the late, great Chicago Bear Walter 'Sweetness' Payton's all time rushing record, will join teammates Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin. These teammates were known as The Triplets.

Won three Super Bowls in the 90's. Shoulda been at least four. I admit, I'm still bitter about Jimmy Johnson's exit--although it is in the long ago past. Where did the time go? Seems like yesterday I was at Super Bowl parties to root da Boyz onto victory. I remember at one party I smoked a cigar...don't ask.

Any way, I gotta get set to watch the game. And I'll smile as I recall Triplets leading the way--and come August, they'll be together again. Congrats, Emmitt!

GO Saints!

Couple Things...

Got through the day. Oh, and I feel some old age creep up on me. Seems when I rise in the morns, , body is STIFF. As I warm up, just like a '58 Chevy, I'm roarin' down the road. However--being more consistent on exercise may help. I'm stuck on the Lose Weight Train. Found out, a man once close to me, has shed about 60lbs. See, guys can lose weight by missing out on a hamburger, while we girl look at a hamburger and gain five pounds. Anyway, I don't even want to discuss it, except I did drink the 74 ounces of water. The trek to the bathroom proved that!
I received kind words from a woman I've never met, except for exchanging a few words on a Social Network, about my one and only self published book. The book itself is 11 years old. I'm amazed it still touches folks--well, really, that anybody is touched at all. Just nice. Humbling.

Good thing is, I'm off tomorrow. Boss wanted us to start using up our vacation. So for my 15 minute POKE test--which is what I call my Coumadin Check- I took off the WHOLE day. I do have to get get a tire, continue hunt for cheaper house/car insurance, plus other stuff before I head to get POKED. I just know I need a day off, while other people work. The sleepin' in, with a herd of cats, as a blanket will be nice.
The next man I date oughta be a vet. .

So tonight, on Dancing With the Stars, Michael did a very good job, Donny brought the house down and poor Mark--he had multi-partners due to Lacey's health. And on the girls' side: Mya I have yet to warm up to and Kelli whined just too many times for me, and maybe America. So if Michael isn't one of two booted off: it will be Mark and Kelli.

Stay tuned!

Total Tuesday

Need some coffee. Early in the morning as I write this. In fact, I'm headed out the door to work. Cats are fed. Stuff in the dryer. Oatmeal ready--with it's fresh strawberries sliced in--and I'm off to work.

Joy. I'm blessed to have a job. However....

Anyway, it's the Results Show for Dancing With the Stars tonight. I'll predict now. Melissa and unfortunately, Michael Irvin. I still say his pro-dancer didn't tap into him from the start--was the downfall. I don't care for Mya--yet Melissa and Michael.

And I have a stat counter on my blog. I love seeing where everyone comes from--repeat visitors and new visitors--just get a kick out of what technology brings on home. It's also amazing to me, I can tell someone who was once a grand part of my life seems to peak at my blog just about everyday. The stat counter tells me the location of the system looking at my blog. It's funny--they're no longer in your life physically, yet they remain interested in your life.

Amazing.

I'm off to work. Oatmeal and coffee await.

I await for the Results tonight....

Post Script:
Michael Irvin lives to dance another day! In the Bottom Two, yet wins the dance off!! Next week another double elimination--however, until then I'm gonna enjoy this win for Michael!!

Gather 'round..

It's Monday. Downed my 74 ounces of water. Shoulda just stood outside with my mouth open. Rained ALL day. At least my yard looks lush.
Made it through with a try on a new attitude. That all o' this is just temporary. Gotta keep it all in focus--since I do need bi-focals, we'll see how long that lasts! :)

Us Iowa Hawkeye fans still hummin' about their last, literally seconds win, while Us Dallas Cowboys fans are hummin' about our Boyz' win. We also ask WHERE has Miles Austin been? In two games, he's stats surpass that of Roy Williams who has played in 17 games. Stay tuned to that.

However, with the rain, I still got the trash by the curb, a cat ready to curl and the remote ready for me to punch to Dancing With The Stars! I so get off on this show! Oh, and the Blue Bell Cookies n Ice Cream is gonna help too. So 'cuse me while I go root for Donny Osmond, Michael Irvin and Mark Dascascos!

Let's DANCE!

Aerobics class started. Didn't make it. I just made it home 15 minutes ago. As I headed to work at 7am--which I is not part of norm--how it would be a tight fit to get to class by 6pm, eventho I was to get off at 3:30. My POKE test (which I call my Coumadin Check, because your finger gets poked) was at 4:20. The total round trip is approx 60 miles--which didn't include, the time spent at the doc office, or the stop at Target to get my refills. I sat at Target at 5:20 --to wait for a pill they hadn't filled. I wasn't smart enough to have had any my aerobics clothes with me to just change there. So to drive home and change and drive to the rec center---just was not feelin' it to walk in while the ladies were doing step. Just not feelin' it at all. So Thursday I will go aerobic and looking forward to it.

People go to work at 7am? It was DARK. Anyway, I am tired. My cats even look at me with closed eyes. Long day. Good day, yet long day.

OK, Dancing With the Stars tonight. I hate to say, yet it might be the night Michael Irvin goes home. The Playmaker did SO much better last night--but....otherwise, I'd be OK if Melissa Hart or even Aaron Carter shuffle off to exit stage right. I want Michael to stay.

Stay tuned.

I want popcorn. In 11 minutes I'll shall munch some.

And as the DWTS Results continue--at least I CAN say Donny "The Argentine Tango" Osmond and Michael "So Glad To Dance Another Day" Irvin and Mark "Who Broke My Heart Cuz He's Married With Children" Dascascos SAFE!! Gotta butter me some popcorn--back to the show!

Monday Muse Moments

Windy, yet gorgeous sun filled day in Dallas. Instead of heading straight home to change and go to the rec center to bike and tread, I decided to jaunt to the park up the street from my house. Already had on my tennyshoes and comfy clothes-so why not? There's a pond there, alas there were no ducks to feed. Sat there for a moment then a picnic table became my stop.

The wind danced through the leaves and kissed my faced. Loved it. Made chums with a couple dogs and their humans. All nice indeed. In the midst of it all I did do some musings--musings which have consumed my moments of late:

Well, yes, Dancing With the Stars is one. Can't wait for that. Hard to explain how one show gives me so much pleasure. More than movies, but not more than football, yet more than American Idol. I guess because I always wanted to dance. Of course, seeing Donny Osmond helps too! :) Never once thought, those years ago, when he told me with his newest album at the time, would show he had as much soul as me, that Donny would grace us with ballroom dancing...just love it!

Seasons. Yep, the other things I thought about. Not so much the weather's change, yet more so how seasons change within relationships. Three relationships jumped to mind. All have spanned years. Now they've ended or close to the end. Makes me sad. Never want to say good bye to something which has been near and dear to my heart. However, know, deep in my heart it is the best thing. No words seemed to said. The no words actually show our drift away.

To sit at the picnic bench also made me realize I can't always drive 20 miles to walk around a park. Just because that park. by my old apartment, is familiar-need to let go. Sure I can always visit, yet the park up the street--pond and trees and dogs to meet and all, begs me for a sure promise we'll really get to know one another. Well, it is a pretty park...

In the meantime, I gotta get ready for Dancing With The Stars. Hope Donny brings it on home, while I pray Michael Irvin DANCES

Seasons. Change is hard, yet each season is beautiful.

So Good Thursday

Just cause it's so close to Friday. You can feel it. So Good.

I really could go on about the 4th Grader asking President Obama why people don't like him or Rush Limbaugh NOT a potential buyer of a NFL team, or how Donny Osmond and Michael Irvin survive to dance another day or why do so many care about Jon & Kate or Miley leaving Twitter or how I'm not too keen on Twitter and couple chums can't even believe I would think such a thing or or how my body aches from aerobics or how I can still can't believe Michael Jackson is gone and he did it to himself or how I want make enough money to update my house and go on a vacation or how most of the current Young and the Restless storylines make me restless and I FF, or how I bought my now last watermelon of the year and it was literally empty inside or I could go on, alas why?

It's almost Friday.

Al Jarreau tells us in one of my all time favorite songs how things can be So Good.-reminds me how some things still can...

Wee Wednesday Eve

Did aerobics class tonight. I guess I thought we'd be some bunch of mid-life women takin' it kinda easy. Ya know, not doing that much since --well--we're mid-life women.

Wrong.

Will ache tomorrow. I need a better pair of tennyshoes. As I looked In the mirror as I pulled this rope thing to work my arms, and got all the way mad at myself --again- how I'd lost this 70 lbs and kept it off until-My emotional eater self and gained more than half of it back. Anyway, it will be a good ache. At least that's what I tell myself. I do know I'll sleep like a rock and them some tonight.
Tonight on Dancing With the Stars, Michael Irvin is SAFE to dance another day. I do so blame his pro-dancer partner, Anna. Sure, she's new to the show, yet Anna's gotta put more dance in the DANCE. I do believe Michael can dance--if he cuts down on his nervousness and actually has a dance to do.

OK. I'm beat. I sweat out my 74 ounces of water tonight. All for the good--so I tell me....

Thomasina OUT.

So Where Were We?

Oh, yes, MacKenzine Phillips. She was on Oprah again today. I missed her the first time, so I may need to tune in, since Oprah is repeated tonight. With the drugs and now this--explains alot of Mackenzie's behavior. Stay tuned.

On a lighter note, of COURSE, watched "Dancing With The Stars!" And I'm glad Michael Irvin is safe to dance another night. Unless his new pro dancer/teacher steps up the game, Michael will be gone before he shows us anything. I'm sure Michael's new dancer/teacher is nervous-first time on the show and all. However, there was a new male pro dancer/teacher who received nothing but kudos from the judges. Poor Michael, he deserves more than the "4" two of the judges gave him. Monday is coming-and I got faith in you Michael!

On the eating-less-calories-and-working- out-more front is kinda stuck in neutral. I've been good on the eating less calories, not so good on the working out part. Still good on the drinking water part tho. Need to get the body moving more. I keep saying I want to do aerobics, while what I really want to do is a dance class. Ballroom, sure--but more jazz, ballet or even tap. They have a tap class at the rec center, alas it's during the day. I'd love to take a jazz class, like I did in the early 90's and received "A"s for my solo. My teacher, who ran a dance company, said I had 'presence'--yet now I'd need a class that was a bit gentler to my older bones. Leaping across the floor with a bunch of 20 somethings ain't my bowl of Blue Bell Cookies n Cream ice cream anymore.

There's lots more, like the Iowa Hawkeyes battle Penn State tomorrow night. Trust me, I will be glued to the TV, plus the Dallas Cowboys play on Monday Night Football--and they GOTTA win, especially in that Billion Dollar Bungalow Jerry built. Ya know, I still feel Jerry's Bungalow shoulda been built in Dallas. I don't care what the Dallas city leaders say--that was something, that shoulda stayed in Dallas.

OK. I've rambled enough. Got some Friday to enjoy with a song that still makes my toe tap. Little known kinda disco ditty by Chic. Had it on vinyl and I dedicate it Michael Irvin, 'You're more than those 4's the judges gave you. In my book you're a 26 (that's the song's title)!

Round About

Made it through the first night of Dancing With the Stars. Donny Osmond did pretty good, especially by winning this Relay Dance. Also Mark the Iron Chef and the Boxer Guy. I can't remember his name, but he's my dark horse. It was good to see Hall of Fame Former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin, yet I think for the moment, he's got a bum deal. Michael's dance partner is new to the show and needs to put more DANCE into Michael's dances. He just seem to stand there and not do much. All in all, I enjoyed the show and predict Ashley Hamilton will be the one to get the boot.

We wait to hear on Marion Barber. He may have pulled a hamstring in Sunday's game, and not sure when he'll be back. I'm not liking that. Tony Romo takes responsibility for losing the game--his three interceptions didn't help. Some of the dee-fense lacked too. Only one game, but STILL...

Stepped on the scale--full force. A few pounds are gone. I need to step up my exercise routine. I'm doing lots better on the calorie counts. No candy, fried food--stuff like that. And the intake of my water is constant....gee. So all is good.

Get on with the day. Rain here in Dallas. Dream for the impossible to be the possible.

Stay tuned.

Really?

It's Tuesday. Tonight should be aerobics. Need to step up the exercise. For that, I miss the work out room that was in my old apartment. Had a park and work out room just steps away. Around the park, I'd make friends with my dogs and their humans....nice.

My chums have teased me about Donny Osmond being on the Dancing With the Stars, come next month. I think it'll be fun. Plus, I hope Michael Irvin proves he's a winner on the ballroom floor as he was on the gridiron--then Mark Dacascos can do more than point at food like he does on Iron Chef! I can't wait!

Anyway, today. I stepped on the scale and smiled. Of course, you want it to go FASTER, alas--the fact it's going at ALL is wonderful.

All is His time.

I am blessed.

Donny Osmond, DWTS and ME

Drank my 74 ounces of water today. Planned to do the rec center, however I am about ready to drop. Woke up about 2:15 AM for a visit to the watercloset. No cat in sight. My guess because it was muggy last night. And even tho I had my ceiling fan on--it wasn't as cool as other places in the bungalow. Come November they'll think I'm the place to be!

I digress.

Couldn't sleep much and the alarm came TOO quick. Made it through work. Got to put trash out by the curb. Think about the dishes and wonder how my home business ideas, as I ready myself for "The Closer" and "The T.O. Show" ---oh and, as I DVR "Nurse Jackie."--I'm tired. Did pop my coumadin tho and will have some salad shortly. The scale continues to not ask for oxygen as I step on it. I'm liking that. Tomorrow should be aerobic class....

I digress Part II

Donny Osmond on Dancing With The Stars. All my chums know I will be glued to the set. Sure, we've seen him perform on stage, which for me, has been close to 50 times, thru the years. But can he dance? Marie fainted--will he? Donny will have the fan base, that's for sure--but can he dance? May have to pull out some old original Donny & Marie shows for research. Doesn't really matter--I will be there--joke if want--yet--it may finally give me the gumption to write the book I have in mind for my experiences during Osmond times. The working title is: You Remind Me.

In the meantime It Takes Two--Donny (with a dash of Michael Irvin) plus DTWS make me a happy camper as days grow shorter!

Stay tuned.
