801 and counting...

Here it is-my blog's 801st post.
This kitty's eyes are wide and curious for what I may say.
Me too.

Today I used up a vacation day and went out to work anyway. It was our Secret Santa day which was planned after I chose this day to be off. It was fun we laughed alot. And I was glad I went for that 90 mins or so. My Secret Santa gave me a gift card good at 4 eateries I frequent-so good!

After that headed off to my real lunch with another chum. We munched bar-b-q. While we wiped the bar-b-q sauce off our mouths, my chum says it seems how I always have a day off. He asks, "Do you have a day off for every other half day you work?'" Witty my chum thought he was.

I replied how I would poke his eye out with my fork.

That's what friends are for, right?

Profound indeed for 801st!

Made It Through Monday...

I'm glad. I'm tired too. One cat is curled right here on my desk. I'd take a photo, yet the battery is dead. Then I have another in the space between my back and the back of the chair. Trust me, the space wasn't there before. I can't believe the cat is comfy back there. If he fidgets just one more time I'll be on the floor.
Cats.

Gotta love em.
And I do.
I have a male chum who likes cats too. I never thought I'd meet a man who liked cats, more less had three of this own. The male chum is a nice guy. No love connection or anything close to it. Just a fellow fan of feline.
Nice change.
Monday, I'm done with you. Let Tuesday have a chance.

So Much....

Seems to have happened since I checked in you guys..
On the professional front--UGH--that's the rockiest-
If my professional life where the Titanic
It woulda sunk before we left the harbor--
It's all temporary.
Anyway, outside of that things have been OK
I have a little 99 cent cup of Haagen-Daaz (Strawberry)
And this kitty-

To help me ease thru the night.
Oh, and I've started back on an exercise regimen--
So that's a story-
However, in the meantime,
The Texas Rangers and New York Yankees are
On the TV. If the Rangers win--WORLD SERIES!!
Lived in Kansas City, when the Royals won the '85 Series
If the Rangers get there--oh MAN!
How cool would that be?
Stay tuned!

And then....

It's Saturday
Feel like staying in bed.
I mean, doesn't this kitty's eyes pretty much speak it?

Alas I must rise. Do wanna get errands do before before the sun bakes us. In fact, there's a play in Ft Worth I want to see. A guy, I kinda know, is the male lead. Well, he's the only male in it. Of course, in my spoiled only child way, I don't want to see WAAAAAAAAAAAY back in the theatre. Now forget there's only 100 or so seats in the theatre, so how bad can the seats really be?

Other stuff on tap today too. I have a writing schedule of non-fiction stuff for school and FUN fiction stuff. Stay tuned on all that. I'm enjoying the FUN fiction stuff. The set up is sorta changed from what I had before. Plus, I realize I need to jot the notes down of my changes--because--well, I can't remember them. Guess I'm not as Supergirl as I thought!

And then
Coconut cream pie and a cup o coffee will
May just be on the Saturday playlist too.

Tired

First, about the college exam I discussed last night--well, I never heard back from the teacher. And today I started a brand new class--so whatever happens is gonna happen. If I had read ALL the material, as I should have, there wouldn't have such a great need for me to do 'open book' then I wouldn't have opened another browser and accidently logged out the browser where I took the test. One chance for the test--that was it. .

Oh well.

In this new class, I have a 1000 word paper due by Sunday. We must attach the article we used to gain most of our info, plus run the paper thru the plagiarism checker and paint the sky blue by daybreak. Well, not the last part--but still. 1000 words by Sunday over--let's see--exploring the purpose of human services and include how Ginger on Gilligan's Islands only seemed to have evening gowns--well, maybe not that last part but still--doing this non-fiction writing has made more determined to write FUN fiction writing, because--well, because I CAN!

I am beat. Reading the new class' syllabus overwhelmed me. Yet, I will succeed. In the meantime, I'm gonna plop on the couch, take the remote away from this cat, and savor the night which a bowl of Blue Bell Rocky Road Ice Cream...

Truth Tuesday

I'm tired.
Realize again, how much I am so an emotional eater!
Hope my racquetball partner and I can play a few games--
Took a day break from the school work-
To finish a 1200 word piece for Chicken Soup for the Soul submission-
Which is due Friday.
In the meantime, I am tired.
Yet, I thought of a past love tonight

And I smiled.

What's New?

Well, it's Friday--and I like that--but that's NOT so new to know.

What is new is, a local author, who is also a NY Best Selling author, who I asked to be part of a writers' conference cannot attend. Bummed, I am. Somehow, after she told me couldn't be a speaker, I wound up telling her about my middle age love story. A story I've wanted to write since I was in my 20's --when I didn't know about middle age anything--the NY Best Selling Author said my story "has great frame"-and asked if I'd considered turning the story into a screenplay instead of a novel? See, I told her I've always pictured Whoopi Goldberg and Danny Glover with a happy together ending, ever since "The Color Purple."

Never having written a screenplay, even tho, I once scripted a one act play, I certainly no problem getting "Screenwriting for Dummies". Nice encouragement, especially from someone I truly admire.

So stay tuned.

Now back to Friday. The kitties posted here await a chin rub and Friskies Party Mix treats. Alas, I'll leave you with classic Tom Jone asking a pussy cat, What's New?

Just a Few

On a gorgeous Saturday, as I toiled with school work, these kitties kept me company. They perched by my PC monitor. You can tell one of em is kind of a wide load! :) His purr is as big as his hind side!

Anyway, once the school work was done, I headed out to enjoy the day. Splendid, spectacular day!

On of my stops was at a theatre to see Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married Too?" Parts of it were quite good, because I saw improvement in Tyler's writing and direction. And I marvel at Janet Jackson. She whispers so when interviewed, like on Leno and Oprah, for instance--yet in this...something so different. Janet has mentioned this movie was being filmed around her brother Michael's death. I feel that you will feel her pain...I did.

I admire Tyler for all he puts into his movies, however there are times I wish he'd let somebody else direct and/or co-write the script, then Tyler could concentrate on his own acting. Just a thought. Oh, and I will say--at one point I had a big ol' smile on my face. If you go see "Why Did I Get Married Too" I bet you'll know when it was, because it just rocked me over. As did everybody in the theatre.

That's it for now. Just a few on this Saturday. The sun still shines and gotta go enjoy it some more!

Am Too

That's what I am. It's 9:14pm. I promised myself I was going to bed early tonight..and I am.

Did some school work. This instructor--has already given me positive feedback on my posts. I'm beginning to think this Human Services Bachelor of Science thing I'm goin' for is a good thing. I do have do alot of writing for this particular class this weekend--plus I'd like to do some of my own fiction writing--my novella cries to me to add more words to it. I'll see what I can do.

Oh, and I tried to prune my wisteria tree--yes, tree--I hope I didn't kill it. Anyway, a branch popped me in the face. Since I take a blood thinner, I won't be too surprised if I have a bruise. Anyway, I'm pretty proud of myself for taking on such a task. It had grown enough, it had wrapped itself around my neighbors' tree branches....

And the kitty posted here? His name is Noir and has his own blog, Noir's Nook--which seems to get more hits than mine. Hmm. I can't be hating on my own cat, must be cuz Noir purrs! :) Anyway, I took snapped this picture just a few minutes ago. Noir perched on the blankee I have for a cat who decides to keep me company while I toil on the PC. Noir decided tonight was his shift. however Noir does decide when his shift is also over--cuz Noir pulled an Elvis and left the room....

...and I am too.

Ahh...

It's Friday.
Rain and a chill fills the air.
Not as cold as it was a few weeks ago.
Friday, none the less.
And that's enough to be said.
Enjoy!

Couple Things...

Got through the day. Oh, and I feel some old age creep up on me. Seems when I rise in the morns, , body is STIFF. As I warm up, just like a '58 Chevy, I'm roarin' down the road. However--being more consistent on exercise may help. I'm stuck on the Lose Weight Train. Found out, a man once close to me, has shed about 60lbs. See, guys can lose weight by missing out on a hamburger, while we girl look at a hamburger and gain five pounds. Anyway, I don't even want to discuss it, except I did drink the 74 ounces of water. The trek to the bathroom proved that!
I received kind words from a woman I've never met, except for exchanging a few words on a Social Network, about my one and only self published book. The book itself is 11 years old. I'm amazed it still touches folks--well, really, that anybody is touched at all. Just nice. Humbling.

Good thing is, I'm off tomorrow. Boss wanted us to start using up our vacation. So for my 15 minute POKE test--which is what I call my Coumadin Check- I took off the WHOLE day. I do have to get get a tire, continue hunt for cheaper house/car insurance, plus other stuff before I head to get POKED. I just know I need a day off, while other people work. The sleepin' in, with a herd of cats, as a blanket will be nice.
The next man I date oughta be a vet. .

So tonight, on Dancing With the Stars, Michael did a very good job, Donny brought the house down and poor Mark--he had multi-partners due to Lacey's health. And on the girls' side: Mya I have yet to warm up to and Kelli whined just too many times for me, and maybe America. So if Michael isn't one of two booted off: it will be Mark and Kelli.

Stay tuned!

Cat Fan or Not

Folks know I'm all about the feline. Grew up with cats that my mom would not let keep inside. Not until we got a Siamese kitten for 10 bucks. that got named Minglee--by Mom. She adored this cat. While me being an only child finally had another living creature, under the same roof, to share all my secrets with.

Now I have what seems like a neighborhood full of cats who let me live with them. Aafter I feed and tend to their potty boxes, of course. They grace me with a purr or three. None really like to be held nor are much of a lap cat.

What they are good is when I try to sleep at night. When I contour myself in positions to not to mess with their sleep. A cat catching some Z's is a 10 ton brick covered with fur. Try to move one. Impossible. My cats decide I'm the one they do love when they attache their bodies of brick against my legs. Talk about no circulation. Or one decides I must not be positioned on the pillow just right or I have their space. Or I just should be awake at 2am to love them--and he pats and pulls my hair.

The thing is--I wouldn't change a thing. Except I wish my Mom would have let the cats I had before we got the Siamese for 10 bucks aka Minglee, inside. They were just as special as Minglee. So I guess I make up for it now.

Cat lover or not, cue up this video. I laughed OUT loud. Trust me.

Purrs to you!

It's Christmas Eve Part Done

Movie Man called from his parents' Corpus Christi home. A package, he had been expecting, unexpectedly showed up at his bachelor pad. Hesitant, was he, to ask if I'd check on it, that I wound up asking HIM about going to get it. Especially since Movie Man doesn't arrive back in town until about Dallas-Philadelphia game time on Sunday.

For the couple mile trek, I decided to take my darkest tuxedo tabby:Noir. He's the cat who plays fetch and follows me everywhere with this mangled what used to be a stuffed mouse on a string. That's the toy we play fetch with. So I scoop him up and off to Movie Man's we go in the Pumpkin.

Yea.

Noir meowed LOUD. I'm sure some of you are saying, "Well, OF course, a cat may yowl in the car." My shock is Noir NEVER meows. He just sits and stares. The last time I heard Noir holler like that was the night he was born. The Tuesday night in June, when his mom hatched Noir and siblings, underneath my bed.

All in all, we made it Movie Man's and back without incident. I will say, occasionally, Noir looked out the window and watched the other cars zip by. Now he's over in the chair. Wonder if visions of tuna fish and cat nip treats dance in his head? . And I'm ready to head to the couch after I grab a Christmas cookie.

Thoughts of Past Loves

The Holidays are pretty much right here. Yep.  Especially since three Christmas movies, in the last three days, between Lifetime and Ha...
