Friday

......and so good.  Had the last two days off.  In those two days, I decided I will make my own coffee for my drive to work. Yep. I brought a can of coffee, creamer, and a new mug. I'm set. The deal is, whenever I make coffee it doesn't seem to taste as good as other places. The money I plunk down to Starbucks and 7-11 (although 7-11 is just $1.79) adds up. So I figure the more coffee I make at my own chateau, the closer I can get to the Mercedes in my driveway.

I do dream big.

Now 'cuse me while I go read the directions on the coffee can :)

Happy Friday!

Friday

Another triple digit day here in Dallas. It is June. Better get use to it. And I gotta say, the window a/c unit that took me a day and a half to put in, has done its job better than I ever imagine!
**Before I go bask in the coolness which also includes a TV and remote, let me tell you I got in trouble today at work. Yep. Kinda felt like a trip to the principal's office. Although the reprimand took place a few desks down from my own.
***What did I get in trouble for?  Oh, and another co-worker got pulled with me. We were both stumped. Turns out we were called on the carpet for giggling and laughing. We disrupted those around us.
*****Really?  OK. Yea, I admit, we did take a few minutes from our job, and did a laugh about silly stuff. Was a nice, quick break. We tried to keep it not so loud, and just amongst ourselves. Evidently we failed.  I was OK with all the manager said, because it was wrong if we bothered other folks. Then the manager said the person who reported us, supposedly told us to quiet down.
****WRONG.  Never happened. And it should have. I was a bit floored with that. Then ya know, it hit me that today IS Friday. So I took a deep breath and remembered Starbucks waited for me and our end of the week date...
Not bad..not bad at all.

Friday.
And had the day off.
Which was good --
Got a wheel alignment on car--
And gee--amazing how much
Smoother my horseless chariot glides...
Hmm. Maybe I should have gotten one sooner... :)

47 Minutes

Until it's Friday--which I consider to be the best darn day of the week.
Just a flash back to Thursday while it's still Thursday.

I trekked to the Goodwill to look at glass vases and glass plates. If you take time to look, it is amazing what treasures are among junk. My big catch tonight were three Arcoroc France plates, then fine china bowls, two glass vases and other stuff all for 17 bucks and 81 cents. The Arocroc plates could have been easily been five-eight dollars apiece. In my case they weren't.

Came on home. Did laundry. Picked up leaves in my yard to press them in books. Painted plaques and terra cotta pots. I realized my all-time favorite acrylic paint color is metallic black. Ate pizza bonded with my girlcat who decided she wanted to be held-first time since about September. Watched TV, specifically "True Lies" with Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger when we still loved him. Put laundry in the dryer. Watched more TV, specifically a sappy, romantical Christmas movie on Lifetime--and decided to head to bed.

Now there are 23 minutes left until Friday gets here.

Good.

Friday with Feline...

The best day of the week. That is what today is. Friday. Although so much stuff gets inside your mind thru the week--when Friday rolls 'round-it's like none of the stuff that messsed with you thru the week really matters much anymore.

I will take the hint from the cat.

And just relax...

Friday. Gotta love it.

Finally Friday

Oh wow.
I could go on and on and on..
Texas Rangers down 2 games to zip in the World Series...
Dallas Cowboys have 1 win and gazillion losses and without Romo...
My impatience shows with dreams I have...
When do they come true? I have my Joy.
Rejoice.
Yet
Got invited to a classmate's house for Thanksgiving--nice.
Heck, I met Rick Springfield-
Because of Facebook, a woman who was once one my pen pals in junior high found me...
Stamps then were either a nickel or six cents. We later met in the same Kansas City workplace, surprised we'd found each other then...
Another chum says to come out out NYC so to do coffee-
All in all it's good.
Finally Friday.
Nothing more need be said!

11:44 PM

I'm still up.
A cat sleeps in front of the monitor. What such an easy life he as.
Anyway, I was working on a school thing
And frustrated because I'm to produce 4 Power Point slides for this class--
Well, I don't have PP on my PC--
I do now. I download some free software.
Anyhoo I just yawned.
Caught myself thinking about somebody I shouldn't.
I'm headed to bed.
It's almost Friday.
And I am so OK with that!

Calm Before Friday

Things are calm after yesterday's floods and tornadoes--remnents from Hurricane Hermine. I could go on, like I think I saw Movie Man in the Wal-mart parking lot walking to he store, while I looked for a parking spot. I wonder if it really was. We've not seen him since December. Yes, I could talk about a Season of Separation.

I really don't want to.

I could go on how I have to write some 2100 word paper for school due in a week, about my Personal Model of Helping.....my what? Yea, I gotta learn what that is.

Really don't want to talk about that either.

I could go on about New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings played the first game of this new NFL season tonight, yet the REAL first NFL game of the season is between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins Sunday night.

Hmm. Well---maybe, but I don't wanna talk about that either---yet.

What I will say, the calm is after the storm.

It's almost Friday and I gotta have Bob Seger tell me about "Hollywood Nights"

You and Friday

Now come on. Admit it. This is a relationship you really, really like.
You and Friday. I know I do.
Gotta admit tho, it went in spurts. Friday and me. Mainly because there was a time
I worked Friday Nights, while chums ran the streets, being wild and free-
As I toiled in a nursing home's kitchen fillin' jelly jars, peelin' carrots and washin' dishes.
From 10 PM to 6 AM. On a Friday. After about 8 months,
The nursing home and I 'mutually agreed' I need not come back---ever.
What did I care? I was 19. Lived at home. Sweet Big Daddy Don slid me $ when
The step-mother wasn't looking. Grand life to be had.
Plus I re-launched a great relationship with Friday--
And I liked it like that--Baby, I thought I was a star!

Gotta Be Finally Friday

And it is! A week of change, especially today. See, today was my last day in my current position at the company I toll for. A month ago, two hundred of us found out we were losing our jobs, due to them being moved to Tennessee. In the the next breath, our management announced we still had jobs, just in a different area. Only we didn't have a say on which one of the two job openings, we were gonna get. Kinda like a box of chocolates, except the piece was already decided for us.

In my case, I got the job I wanted. In fact, I'd applied at another company, for the same position. Unfortunately, I had one piece of the puzzle, but not all of it. Now, I'll get trained in all pieces. Might be a slight raise involved--MIGHT--since they are was on different pay scale than us. So this new adventure starts Monday and I am excited! It's a good change--a very, GOOD change.

Which couples with my first week as being a student at University of Phoenix. I'll be in debt until I'm 175. S'ok. My area of study is all online. My advisors mean well, yet they call all the time--to make sure everything is OK. I'm in the midst of to get my routine down. Not as bad as I thought--so far. And I've already asked how long do I have to be there to be one one of those "I Am A Phoenix" commercials. Stay tuned.

And then my junior high art teacher found me on Facebook. Art Teacher remembered how uncomfortable I was, in class, and apologized. I liked her, I said, but it was the class I dreaded. I couldn't draw, paint or do a straight line with a ruler-plus I got a C for the class. I fretted for the longest to show my parents my report card because of it. The "C" didn't look that good among the all "A"s and one "Be"....at least I thought. Nobody would EVER confuse me with Picasso! Art Teacher got a kick out of it.

In all that, change has happened. All good I feel. So because it's Friday, I gotta cue up a song by Change, from the early 80's: Lover's Holiday, with back up singer the late great Luther Vandross! Good stuff never does die...Happy Friday!

Ahh...

It's Friday.
Rain and a chill fills the air.
Not as cold as it was a few weeks ago.
Friday, none the less.
And that's enough to be said.
Enjoy!

Cause It's Friday

And I downed my 74 ounces of water, of course the nachos helped-
And the fact I just like this song by the Brothers Johnson..
And loved to dance to "Stomp" on Back in the Day Friday Nights-
Hmm. May do a few steps 'round my house-
Just cause I can and smile how once I thought 2am was still early...
Just hope I don't kick a cat in the process while I "Stomp" back--
And Happy Weekend...tis HERE!

Tired

It's Thursday. Almost Friday.

I did go knock on a neighbor's door to inquire about Mister Bob. Even tho one of their cars was parked in the drive way--nobody answered. Mister Bob's house remains dark this night. I'll try again tomorrow. I pray he's OK. Even tho Mister Bob and I didn't speak everyday, our street seems a little less quiet at the moment.

May snow tomorrow. Don't care. It will be Friday. Just about everything looks good on a Friday. Even the fact I dropped a contact tonight on such a cluttered countertop and couldn't find it. Of course, my order of replacements has arrived yet--so work tomorrow with glasses I bought in the last century--I think. It will still be Friday.

I'm tired.

My feline laden bed awaits my weary bones.
That's it for now.

Stay tuned.

And It Is...

Friday. Finally.

The Weekend to see if my Iowa Hawkeyes can go 10-0 on Saturday. Then can Tony Romo and Roy Williams, of the Dallas Cowboys connect ALOT against the Donovan McNabb and the rest of the Eagles Sunday Night?

I'll consider to scrub everything for top to bottom, throw stuff from a back bedroom and maybe even do a bit of writing on the novel I say I want to write...

Hmm.

To savor ice cream and pet a cat may win out. You know...priorities!

In the meantime, gotta cue this song I STILL love 30 years later cuz it is: WEEKEND!

Almost

Friday.
Yep, almost Friday.
Does any more need to be said?
Except I am glad
The weekend is about here
And I have enough money to buy
a cup o' joe at 7-11 in the mornin'
Thursday nights make you just
Feel the rush of
What is Friday...
Now a little I'd where I'd have happy feet
Dancing to back in the 80's. Still a catchy beat...
Almost Friday...

Finale

Tis Friday. The week c'est fini. Does more need to be said?

Naw.

Oh wait-I did down my daily 74 ounces of water. Whatever happened to the days when I gulped water to chase a little whiskey...:?

So now some Bachman Turner Overdrive to help us recall how we must still be Takin' Care of Business--and heck, why not? Tis the Weekend...ENJOY!

To be said one time and one time only.
How it is the weekend
And should be announced by the band known as: Free-
That it is All Right Now
Enjoy!

Shout it Out!

Because it's Friday---finally! And also my day to visit Hogwarts and Harry Potter and chums in the Half Blood Prince. /Excited about it--and of course I didn't get the book finished. Almost though-yet not all the way. And I realize some people will think I am so wrong to not have finished because I had so much time to read it. Oh well. Doesn't mean I'll enjoy the movie any less!

The thing is, I think I started the book way over a year ago. Perhaps before I moved. Enjoyed yet, yet seemed to get all too wordy. Plus the 7th and last Harry Potter? I've yet to even purchase it. I admire what JK Rowling conjoured--especially because it looks like she started out in longhand on her books. I will get the 7th and last Harry Potter because I really don't know what happened. And besides I got another year or so to try and get through it-before the first of the last two movies are released. :)

In the meantime, let's get back to it being Friday and "Shout It Out Loud"--with a little help for that oh, so conservative band; KISS!

Your Head Better Be Up:It's Friday!

Will you look at that!
We made it through a short but LONG week!
Why when a holiday is part of the week ,it seems to take twice as long to get to the finish line?
The weekend is HERE!
FRIDAY!
What could be better than that?
Ya know, I could go on and on and ON, but why?
Let's just cut to the chase.
Cue up Argent, from 1973, who tells us to Hold Your Head Up. And to think I had this 45!
Argent had the right idea: Get on with the weekend!
Enjoy

Thoughts of Past Loves
