Thursday
Makes it almost Friday.
Which makes me so happy and
Filled with glee...
And no more really
Need much be said--except
Hurry on up, Friday--
I so wait for our dance!

Day After
Well, the day after my birthday and still enjoying it!
Had lunch with another good chum today--nice, long over due chat
And the surprise when I returned home with my lawn being mowed--
Ya know, it's Friday. Sunday shines. Windows open and
I gotta back out and enjoy the day!
In the meantime here's a little Sly and the Family Stone from 1969--
Gotta say it's great to appreciate stuff you were too young for
Once upon a time and at one point--ya wonder where the censors where
Love it!

Easy On
Dallas' record snow fall of 12.5 inches is all but melted. Birds are happy, since they have to hop around on the snow anymore to get to food--for now. See, the weather Folk say we might get a snow flurry or two tomorrow.
No matter. That's tomorrow.
On this day, spent a good chunk of it with a long time chum. Overdue us for a together, hence gobs to catch up on. Lotsa girl gab, coffee, laughs and homemade chocolate meringue pie. .YUM!
Good chums make it easy on to be a Good day.
Don't get any better than this.

Cause It's Friday
And I downed my 74 ounces of water, of course the nachos helped-
And the fact I just like this song by the Brothers Johnson..
And loved to dance to "Stomp" on Back in the Day Friday Nights-
Hmm. May do a few steps 'round my house-
Just cause I can and smile how once I thought 2am was still early...
Just hope I don't kick a cat in the process while I "Stomp" back--
And Happy Weekend...tis HERE!

Finally Friday
So much to say about: Leno vs Conan
Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings
My waistline vs onion rings
World's Best Cat Litter vs Tidy Cat Long Lasting
Yesterday's Loves vs Not Having a Today's Love
However I'm tired. Chat amongst yourselves.
It's Friday.
The Weekend.
That's all that really does matter.
Enjoy!

Week Before Christmas
It's Friday. So glad. A cat hollers--which means some kind of attention needed Cats need to get a job. Their litter doesn't grow on trees--well--hmm.I could go on about work. How I still wonder how I grew to be one of the older statesmen on my team. Just when did I cross from the Eternity Lake of my 20's to Put on Reading Glasses to Read Ingredients on Food Carton Pool? More angry at myself I'm in this situation. Which I just need to crush the cycle. I do think think I disappointed one of the young ladies today that I didn't want to thrust the peace sign with my fingers and say, "Peace out, yo." I choose not to be the cool mom who hangs out with her daughters' chums. When did the grown up stuff really begin?
Tish tosh. That's a topic for another day.
Hey, it's a week before Christmas. And I want to hear Nat King Cole sing a song that so reminds me of Christmas memories with my Dad. I've not been back to Iowa, for Christmas, since 2001. Two months after his passing. I miss it at times--yet I went home to spend that time with him. Now his spirit spends Christmas in my heart--everyday.
Cue up Nat.

Friday Feel
And really, is there anymore to be said? End of the week. Closer to Christmas.
And my thoughts of the late, great Luther Vandross version of O Come All Ye Faithful.
Heard this first in 1996
Gave me chills
And still does.
We miss you, Luther.
And the Heavenly Choir just is bit more heavenly with you in it---

December Kinda Like
Christmas.
The temp is at freezing. No snow. Some folks have lights on their homes. Alas, I don't. Though I smile at the memory of Dad stringing up the lights. And the years of our flocked turquoise Christmas trees. Trust me it worked!
So since it's almost Christmas and I'm thrilled it's Friday too boot--I will cue up one my favorite songs by the late, great Luther Vandross. My eyes still mist up as Luther tell me about Christmas Time. Wonderful, wonderful song.
Reminds me how much I miss Luther.

Tired
I did go knock on a neighbor's door to inquire about Mister Bob. Even tho one of their cars was parked in the drive way--nobody answered. Mister Bob's house remains dark this night. I'll try again tomorrow. I pray he's OK. Even tho Mister Bob and I didn't speak everyday, our street seems a little less quiet at the moment.
May snow tomorrow. Don't care. It will be Friday. Just about everything looks good on a Friday. Even the fact I dropped a contact tonight on such a cluttered countertop and couldn't find it. Of course, my order of replacements has arrived yet--so work tomorrow with glasses I bought in the last century--I think. It will still be Friday.
I'm tired.
My feline laden bed awaits my weary bones.
That's it for now.
Stay tuned.

Friday Soft
Had to work today. Made it through. UGH. Thought it was Monday due to being off yesterday for Thanksgiving--yet happy to realize it was Friday-I made it THROUGH!
And tonight had dinner with a person I'd mentioned a few weeks ago. We once upon a time been close, yet at the time not so much. We've since talked thru stuff and opted for a new chapter to begin. Relationships grow up, down or even apart. Tonight we laughed alot. All good. Very good.
The thing is do folks risk to mingle together again and learn from each others' growth and grow anew? Or just to scared of said risk?
Cue up Joe Cocker circa 1968 who tells us how he gets a little help from his friends--I second that emotion.
I am blessed.

Friday Feel
It is the weekend. Am so glad. Was pretty pissed the other day.
Eased up--well, trying to anyway. One of those moments
Where you try to think of THE moment
You called yourself taking control-
Instead of to leave all your troubles in God's hands.
Kinda scarey, when I realized when I had that 'moment.'
So now as I'm at another crossroads where my trust
Needs to be in Him. I need to repeat Psalms 50:15
Am I smart enough, more so
Humble enough to admit I can't conquer on my own?
How I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired?
Life is a banquet and I refuse to starve myself.
Stay tuned.
In the meantime, I'm feeling a little Michael Jackson and Corner of the Sky...RIP MJ

And It Is...
Friday. Finally.
The Weekend to see if my Iowa Hawkeyes can go 10-0 on Saturday. Then can Tony Romo and Roy Williams, of the Dallas Cowboys connect ALOT against the Donovan McNabb and the rest of the Eagles Sunday Night?
I'll consider to scrub everything for top to bottom, throw stuff from a back bedroom and maybe even do a bit of writing on the novel I say I want to write...
Hmm.
To savor ice cream and pet a cat may win out. You know...priorities!
In the meantime, gotta cue this song I STILL love 30 years later cuz it is: WEEKEND!

Almost
Friday.
Yep, almost Friday.
Does any more need to be said?
Except I am glad
The weekend is about here
And I have enough money to buy
a cup o' joe at 7-11 in the mornin'
Thursday nights make you just
Feel the rush of
What is Friday...
Now a little I'd where I'd have happy feet
Dancing to back in the 80's. Still a catchy beat...

Sure It Is
Almost Friday. I've not written here since Monday. And there's been stuff to talk about. Lots of stuff. Which I meant to do---each day. Alas, I wrote about some of it on my Facebook Wall
I cannot tell a lie. I love this blog, yet I find I love Facebook too. Never thought I would since I was on it almost 10 months before I really did anything on it. Oh, I don't do those games and such. Nope. I just comment to the folks I "friended." Couple times I IM'd with two folks at a time. I admit I had fun. They didn't even know each other. One was a chum from high school and another was sister of another friend of mine I met here in Texas.
Technology.
Nonetheless, Facebook or no, it's almost Friday. And there ain't a lot more you can about that.
Stay tuned.

Finale
Tis Friday. The week c'est fini. Does more need to be said?
Naw.
Oh wait-I did down my daily 74 ounces of water. Whatever happened to the days when I gulped water to chase a little whiskey...:?
So now some Bachman Turner Overdrive to help us recall how we must still be Takin' Care of Business--and heck, why not? Tis the Weekend...ENJOY!

Ain't No
Stopping NOW! Almost Friday-LOVE that!

Yesterday, I headed to JoAnn's Fabric Store, where they say "Unleash your creativity." Sure. What it unleashed were memories of receiving a "D" on a sewing project in 7th Grade Home Ec. It was to be scarf that I got good enough to sew the two pieces of material together by Parent's Night--that took me a week. My teacher told my parents I was trying. Am proud to say, I received a "B" on the next project: an apron, which I DID wear! :) Anyway, my trek to JoAnn's gave me pause to ponder more about the business I want to commence. Stay tuned.

Downed my 74 ounces of water today (as I did yesterday). Water does curb the appetite. Yet didn't curb me from purchase of a 64 ounce carton of Blue Bell Cookies N Cream Ice Cream. This yummy goodness will be savoured in moderation. Weight loss or no, I will NOT give up this Texas Terrif-o-licious Treasure!
Like I said, it's almost Friday. Weekend bout here so there ain't no stopping us NOW--so say McFadden and Whitehead in about 1979 or so--with one of my favorite disco dance tunes...Love IT!
Enjoy!
