Monday Miffed

Yes, I still heart me some Dallas Cowboys-

However I still can't get over how and why they LOST!

Sure the game was a mess, yet they had WON the game until....

WOW. I still can't stand handle it. The had the game WON.

OK. It's Monday. I'm tired. I couldn't fall right asleep after the game was over

I tried to think of somebody to call. at almost 11pm at night. Those kinda calls are

Out of my repertoire.

So sometime after midnight, I fell asleep, which made me tired thru today.

I'm so beat now.

Did some school work and thought of the 2100 word paper on my personal model of helping due next Monday. Heck, that will wait until tomorrow. Then had a thought on a couple menfolk I know. Now, that makes me smile. And the wedding (not mine) I'm going to on Saturday and the bride just beamed today at work. Then I spoke of my novella to a couple folks...always good. Then....

I thought of the Dallas Cowboys and got miffed again. Only this time, I will not have a problem going to sleep. I'm taking lessons from this kitty:

Who has seen "Avatar"? And did you like it-honestly? I've yet to view it. Was told since I like "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" (not ALL the movies tho), I'd like "Avatar." Making all kinda crazy money, in what seems like a shorter time than "Titanic.'' James Cameron really doesn't need to work again.

And as I write this, the NY Jets took the lead over San Diego. A bit more football to watch, yet not the same and I'm blue, like those in "Avatar" Sure there's the Golden Globes, plus the Worst Cook in America, Jackson Dynasty and ...well, there is quite the cornucopia of TV, yet...

Sun Shines Down

GIDDY! Yes, we here in Dallas, are still a-buzz over the Cowboys. So NICE: 34-14 over the feared and dreaded Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Romo showed he came to play, while Donovan McNabb never got on track. I felt the Cowboys could/would win, yet I thought the game would be closer. It wasn't. And I'm glad. Next week, the Dallas Cowboys travel to Minnesota and the Land of Farve. The idol with his heir apparent. Let's get this week over and done so can get to the important stuff!!

Hey, and I wore my Dallas Cowboy sweatshirt to church today. Got my Praise on GOOD. Then I listened how Pastor Rickie Rush, of Inspiring Body of Christ Church, spoke of your attitude determines your altitude. Makes sense. I think of the things and the folks around me that garner a change of attitude.

For instance, the gray hair, that seems to appear more and more on my head, as each day goes by. That I should have a new attitude towards it. I mean, a young lady of 24 years old said she liked the sprinkling of gray in my hair.

I remembered that as I paid for the color rinse which will dim the gray hair's sparkle.

Outside of hair, I do get what Pastor Rush spoke of. My attitude, at times has held me down. Nobody to blame but me.

So a work in progress. Just like the Cowboys head to the Minnesota next week...

Told my chums I thought the Dallas Cowboys could beat the undeafed New Orleans Saints. I admit, earlier today, for a moment or two, I thought the Cowboys wouldn't be able to pull off a victory.

And they did--at the Superdome. First time in 15 years.

Even when soon to be ex-kicker Nick Folk missed a sure-thing icing on the cake kick at the end.

Last week, DeMarcus Ware was carried off the field. . Strapped to a cart. Scary. Unsure of his condition.

Tonight, DeMarcus played-tough. Just like bright stars do.

Sunday Short

My oh my. The Dallas Cowboys lose to Green Bay today. I'm honest, there was about 5:48 in the game when Tony Romo was intercepted on the goal line. I switched over to my FiOS On Demand to watch the "Desperate Housewives" episode to get me caught up. The coming week on Dallas sports radio--I ain't gonna listen.

Both my teams lost this weekend. Iowa Hawkeyes start out 9-0 and are not destined for the Rose Bowl. And the Dallas Cowboys--my oh my, not happy am I.

I could go on and on--yes, I got my praise on today at Inspiring Body of Christ Church. As much as I've grown in a positive accustom to Pastor Rickie Rush-I have yet to join IBOC. Could be commitment to that church? My previous church home, of five years, I didn't join either--althought I was there every Sunday. Participated in ministries, including adult Sunday school. More prayer needed.

In the meantime, I'm sad about my teams. Both SHOULD have been victorious. I am heartsick, really. What mends a broken heart?

Blue Bell Ice Cream. And tonight Coffee flavored will heal all.

Almost Midnight Miles Madness

It's still Sunday, with just 53 minutes left of the day.

Tonight I will sleep well because the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 20-16. Andy Reid made one too many challenges---and lost.

Marion Barber did his best runs-dragging Eagles along with him. His braids blew in the breeze. And the mighty Miles Austin makes just one catch-yet that catch is the one that sealed the win. Miles ran a Tony Romo pass in for the go-ahead touch down.

Just takes one.

The Dallas-Ft Worth Metrolplex will be in peace--until next Sunday, anyway.

How 'bout them Cowboys!

Sun Shine Day

Walked into a grocery store this afternoon, and saw not one, nor two, but THREE decorated and lit up Christmas Trees! What is UP with that? It' is about 75 degrees here--and I'm sorry, the Halloween CANDY isn't even all gone for the clearance bins yet!! UGH. Too bad Blue Bell Ice Cream wasn't on sale, then I remembered I had plenty in my freezer-My Blue Bell will make Christmas Five Minutes After Halloween more tolerable.

Get this, at Inspiring Body of Christ Church today, we all lifted our bibles to the music of "Beat It"--yes, MJ's song--however we said, "Read It." Trust me, it worked. On top of that, Pastor Rickie Rush spoke how sometimes when we hurt, we direct our pain to other people and focus on ourselves or even direct it towards God--which can make us bitter. The healing can hurt, yet the Holy Spirit soothes. The soothing feels nice.

And when the sun is gone for this day, I'll be plopped right in front of the TV to watch the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles battle it for 1st place in the NFC East. Will Tony Romo and Roy Williams connect on passes--FINALLY? Will Miles Austin keep taking it to the house? Will Patrick Crayton prove once again, if a man loses 2 jobs, he proves WHY he is a star? Will Marion Barber realize I'm his biggest fan? Will Blue Bell's Coffee Flavored Ice Cream charm my tummy?

'cuse me, while I go enjoy this Sunday Sunshine before it disappears from view.

Found out the Iowa Hawkeyes are #13 in the polls! How COOL is that? Not sure when the last time they were that high--will need to research--plus keep it going. GO HAWKS!

Tonight is DVR duty! Dancing With The Stats will get the DVR, while I watch the Dallas Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Granted, I'll flip back and forth, however is the BEST TV view problem to have. As for DWTS, I read what Aaron Carter to say in an interview. Now, I didn't hear it, so I can't judge if he was in joke mode. However after one week, Aaron Carter he says he'll win DWTS. OK. Sure, he might. Yet the problem I have right now, is I had to take a look at his picture to even remember him from last week. I do recall Aaron was pretty good, however we got alot of season to go.

As for my Dallas Cowboys--oh man. Just WIN and make it a SOLID WIN. Just because Carolina Panthers are 0-2, doesn't mean they can't get some hot streak goin'. Got my fingers crossed. If my Marion Barber can't play, s'ok Felix Jones and/or Tashard Choice can step up and cross the goal line too.

So before I plant myself in front of the TV, with a cat in my lap and bowl of Blue Bell Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream in hand, must put out the trash, relish in the fact I downed my 74 ounces of water, and cue up a little KC and the Sunshine Band. Why? Because that's the way I like it, especially on a Monday!

How did Tony Romo fare withOUT Jessica Simpson or T.O. Owens?
Did Felix The Cat Jones pick up where he left off prior to injury?
Did Roy Williams prove WHY the Dallas Cowboy traded for him from Detroit?
Did the Cowboys claim victory?
Should be answered.

In a Monday, we'll know.

As for this Monday, it's Labor Day. And this is about the most labor I'll do--except to remember a once upon a time moment for the Dallas Cowboys.

In a Monday, the road to the same want to be moment like in 1993 will have started again-

Buffalo Bills. Sure was quick. Terrell Owens signed there. Well, it gets a bit more cold in Buffalo than it ever does here in Dallas.

To be honest, as much as I like Tony Romo by the end of last season, Tony received a 15 yard penalty --and counting- from me, because he said football was a sporting event. Was it just a sporting event when he signed that 67 million dollar contract or was Jessica Simpson just another a girl, when they became an item? Oh wait--scratch that last part. OK, sure Tony had to live with the losses. The way the Dallas Cowboys lost. He's human--yet I don't hold much hope Tony really steps up to be a leader.

If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. Right now--Tony Romo is no Troy Aikman.

As for Terrell? I wish him well. He's somebody I woulda baked a pie for.

And to the folks of Buffalo: get the popcorn thawed out.

I realize I may be part of the minority on this one, but my take is...

They shoulda cut Jerry Jones.

Terrell Owens wasn't my favorite player, however he did his job.

I can respect that.

Terrell Owens didn't say, like a 67 Million Dollar QB who dates a Hollywood wanna-be, that it was just a sporting event.

With Michael Irving, back in the glory days-was he a whole lot different?

So now what? Terrell Owens was not the problem on that team.

He spoke his mind. Enough media caught that speaking on tape, and tried to change our minds with it.

Jerry Jones loves this team so much, I hate what he's done with it.

Jimmy Johnson would have left eventually, yet we all shake our heads and wonder, "What if...?

NFL Playoffs

OK--let me see if I got this right. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals (with University of Northern Iowa alum Kurt Warner) will play for the right to the Super Bowl next week. WHAT?!??! We really saw that coming when training came got started, huh?

Last year's Champs, the NY Giants lost to the Eagles today. Arizona beat the Panthers--but come on....ARIZONA?!??! Weren't they 8-8? Didn't both Philadelphia and Arizona beat my Dallas Cowboys? And where are Tony (needs to get his head back on straight), Terrell (don't cut him. He's not the problem), Jason Witten (just give him MVP or some kind of medal) and Marion Barber (I still love him) doing after they finished 9-7? Right in front to their TVs like me.

Yep. And this is why they play the game.

Donovan or Kurt? Both still got a lot of show left in em.

Monday Over

Still so bummed about the Dallas Cowboy's horrendous loaf of moldy bread they presented to the entire country yesterday. UGH! Losing 44-6. Why couldn't they prove they were as GOOD as the loaves pictured here? Oh MY! Did they believe their own press--that they were THAT good? Did they think they wouldn't have to really play the game? What really goes on in Tony Romo's private life? Sure, it's not our business, however Jessica Simpson might decide to tell "Entertainment Tonight' for the Real or Rumor section. Ya know, she may be the sweetest person in the whole Northern Hemisphere, yet it can't all be too easy for Tony.

OK so it's Monday and I got two more days to get through. Before a long weekend plus a brand new year, which brings up a brand new adventure. Are you ready?

And for the Cowboys--By July, which will be Training Camp, I'll be more than ready for some football. Sure hope the team is too--especially to realize there ain't an "I" in team.

Gotta pet a cat, eat a Christmas cookie and watch the Young and the Restless.
