In a Monday NFL Style

A Monday from now the talk to swirl around town will be the outcome of the Dallas Cowboys' first game of the 2009 season the day before.

The questions of :
How did Tony Romo fare withOUT Jessica Simpson or T.O. Owens?
Did Felix The Cat Jones pick up where he left off prior to injury?
Did Roy Williams prove WHY the Dallas Cowboy traded for him from Detroit?
Did the Cowboys claim victory?
Should be answered.

In a Monday, we'll know.

As for this Monday, it's Labor Day. And this is about the most labor I'll do--except to remember a once upon a time moment for the Dallas Cowboys.

In a Monday, the road to the same want to be moment like in 1993 will have started again-

First and ten. Almost here. I'll still get my popcorn ready!

The Dallas Cowboys cut Terrell Owens.

I realize I may be part of the minority on this one, but my take is...

The Dallas Cowboys cut the wrong guy.

They shoulda cut Jerry Jones.

Terrell Owens wasn't my favorite player, however he did his job.

I can respect that.

Terrell Owens didn't say, like a 67 Million Dollar QB who dates a Hollywood wanna-be, that it was just a sporting event.

With Michael Irving, back in the glory days-was he a whole lot different?

So now what? Terrell Owens was not the problem on that team.

He spoke his mind. Enough media caught that speaking on tape, and tried to change our minds with it.

Jerry Jones loves this team so much, I hate what he's done with it.

Jimmy Johnson would have left eventually, yet we all shake our heads and wonder, "What if...?

Jerry Jones should make nice with Jimmy Jones and hire him as GM

In the meantime, we all will deal with how Dallas Cowboys cut the wrong guy.

Terrell, we hardly knew ye. You'll get your Lombardi Trophy--just not with the Dallas Cowboys

Monday Over

Still so bummed about the Dallas Cowboy's horrendous loaf of moldy bread they presented to the entire country yesterday. UGH! Losing 44-6. Why couldn't they prove they were as GOOD as the loaves pictured here? Oh MY! Did they believe their own press--that they were THAT good? Did they think they wouldn't have to really play the game? What really goes on in Tony Romo's private life? Sure, it's not our business, however Jessica Simpson might decide to tell "Entertainment Tonight' for the Real or Rumor section. Ya know, she may be the sweetest person in the whole Northern Hemisphere, yet it can't all be too easy for Tony.

OK so it's Monday and I got two more days to get through. Before a long weekend plus a brand new year, which brings up a brand new adventure. Are you ready?

And for the Cowboys--By July, which will be Training Camp, I'll be more than ready for some football. Sure hope the team is too--especially to realize there ain't an "I" in team.

Gotta pet a cat, eat a Christmas cookie and watch the Young and the Restless.

*sigh* Next Season.

Sunday's Right Choice

....was the right one: Tashard Choice. He was really the only true bright spot in the Dallas Cowboys' total heart wrench of a 20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Taschard Choice had his first NFL start, playing for the injured Marion Barber. He had some diamond sparkle moments--too bad the sparkle turned to coal.

This game was the Cowboys' one to lose. They went into the 4th quarter ahead by 13-3. And lost. A go ahead interception did them in. Then a 4th and Game to Tie or Lose tossed, I think, to Jason Witten, with 55 seconds left in the game, wasn't caught. See, I'm not too sure Jason knew the ball was even coming his way---because he didn't turn around.

Unfortunately, Tony Romo threw the interceptions and fumbled. Plus the D-fense didn't stick around for the entire game. Where was the D-fense who held the Steelers out of the end zone on a 4th and goal? Will some sports radio folks say the commercial with Jessica Simpson jinxed the game?

And don't even get me started on the BCS stuff. Sure, OK--Iowa plays against South Carolina on Jan 1. Now, wasn't there a time when ALL the big time New Year's games were on Jan 1? Now they're stretched to Jan 8! What is THAT about?

Oh yea: Money.

I admit to not really being a Texas Longhorn fan (sorry Movie Man) but why aren't THEY playing for #1? I don't even care how that's explained--they BEAT OU (even though I rooted for OU--coach Bobby Stoops was an Iowa Hawkeye back in the day). I'm with our President elect, Barack Obama--we need a play-off system. UGH.

Ya know, since there's no man to tell me it'll be better next week--the Blue Bell White Chocolate Almond ice cream, in my fridge, will have to do.

Tuesday Thoughts

Things thought about on Tuesday. Like the new short story I finished. Really like it. I hadn’t written something this fast in a very long time. Only 3500 words, yet the fastest 3500 words I’ve ever written. To me the hardest part is to get that initial story down. Gotta be honest, I’m not an outline, write out everything I’m going to write about down before I begin to write the story writer. I admire those that are. For me, I need to have a clear idea. What the story wants to say. I’m a woman who has few characters in her short stories—if I more than two that’s quite the miracle. I make every excuse why I don’t write daily. The main one is time. If I made the habit of getting out bed an hour earlier—that would solve the problem. Nonetheless, I finished my first draft. I like it. Now begins the sparkle part—edit. Stay tuned.

Another Tuesday thought. My daily walk has almost ceased to exist since I moved. I’ve mentioned the work-out room my old complex had. Miss it. I walked at least five days a week, every week because I had that work out room, just so I wouldn’t melt into a pool of chocolate if I strolled outside. I felt better when I walked. I need to get back to it. For me. For my heart.

Election Day, Nov 4 is a Tuesday. Can we light at the end of tunnel?

And get this, I found a 60’s Batman episode on some channel I have. Have you watched this Adam West/Burt Ward classic now? Funny how you see things when you’re an adult and not eight years old. It was the 60’s, however there was a kind of innuendo Batman and Robin had another side to them. The way Robin said the flowers he and Batman held were pretty. I gotta catch another episode.

Jessica Simpson was on ET tonight. Yea, OK—they reported Jessica thinks Cowboy QB Tony Romo could one day be the father of her children. Um. Why is all this junk out right now as the season starts? Man oh man. I will say Tony doesn’t speak about anything but football. Gotta love that.

Final Tuesday thought. Entered photos in my company’s art Contest. People who view all the items, which included paintings, drawings and sculpture, get to vote. Just curious what the folks think of mine. Never had my photography on display before. Stay tuned.
