Sunday Short and Hot

Just jump right up on it: got my Praise ON today at MY church: Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush. Even saw Bear for moment and received a belated hug before service-a surprised indeed. IBOC is a church I just knew I was never, ever gonna be a member of! Pastor Rush of blessings, being anointed, people drawn to you and how we must live by faith. There was so, SO much today. To realize God's Grace took care of me, when I couldn't even really take care of myself...and trust me, this so does explain alot!

All ready treated myself to a Cafe Vanilla Frappucino. Watermelon chills in the fridge. Cats snooze now 'cause bellies are full.

Just the right time to get a bit of house stuff done, plus with all the questions of "Are you still writing?" which happened again about an hour ago, I may just need to do some.

Stay tuned.

Sum Up Sunday

Another view of part of my back yard. The wind does waltz with the leaves. And I like it.
It's Sunday. I went to IBOC--my HOME church as of last week. I still can't get over it I joined. Especially since the church I called Home for 5 1/2 years, before I ventured to IBOC, I never officially joined, even tho I was involved in things--like the co-head of the Singles Ministry and even taught my first adult Sunday School class--didn't know what I was talking about--but I did it. However, I never officially joined.
And now I have: Inspiring Body of Christ Church. I sat by an empty seat that had someone's purse and such there. In a few moments the woman came back--it was the SAME woman, who nudged me last week about joining. Things don't just happen. They happen for a reason. We had a good chat.
The main thing, Pastor Rickie Rush said when folks ask what we we did this weekend we oughta tell em we praised Jesus. Not what is usually heard. I chuckle cause folks who have known me since MTV were just letters in the alphabet, really don't get my Praise. I've learned to expect that. And it's OK--these folks continue to be blessings in my life.
In the meantime, the sun has gone down on this Sunday. Finished a college paper--I doNOT like writing non-fiction. Got a cat to pet, ice cream to eat and pages of Screenwriting for Dummies to fumble through.
I am blessed.

Sun Shines Down

GIDDY! Yes, we here in Dallas, are still a-buzz over the Cowboys. So NICE: 34-14 over the feared and dreaded Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Romo showed he came to play, while Donovan McNabb never got on track. I felt the Cowboys could/would win, yet I thought the game would be closer. It wasn't. And I'm glad. Next week, the Dallas Cowboys travel to Minnesota and the Land of Farve. The idol with his heir apparent. Let's get this week over and done so can get to the important stuff!!

Hey, and I wore my Dallas Cowboy sweatshirt to church today. Got my Praise on GOOD. Then I listened how Pastor Rickie Rush, of Inspiring Body of Christ Church, spoke of your attitude determines your altitude. Makes sense. I think of the things and the folks around me that garner a change of attitude.

For instance, the gray hair, that seems to appear more and more on my head, as each day goes by. That I should have a new attitude towards it. I mean, a young lady of 24 years old said she liked the sprinkling of gray in my hair.

I remembered that as I paid for the color rinse which will dim the gray hair's sparkle.

Outside of hair, I do get what Pastor Rush spoke of. My attitude, at times has held me down. Nobody to blame but me.

So a work in progress. Just like the Cowboys head to the Minnesota next week...

Stay tuned.

Widdle Down

Got my Praise On at the Inspiring Body of Christ Church today where Pastor Rickie Rush spoke of discontentment. This was from the book of Philippians 4:10-13. How discontentment has nothing to do what's going on around you, however what's going on inside of you. Not to think if you had more money, different job or one thing, you think has to happen to make you happy--is not the way to believe. Being able to feel joy, even when Satan tries to stomp all over you, means to put your trust in God.

I second that emotion. Good sermon. Hit home and once again, as if it was written just for ME!

So now if you will excuse me. Gotta down my 72 ounces of water, haul in a 40 pound of kitty litter, consider to mop the floor (naw!) yet will Rejoice in the rest of this day the Lord has made and I will be glad in it. Oh, and when I stepped on the scale this morning it didn't bust in two. :)

I am blessed.

Cue up Israel Houghton to inform us about "Rejoice!"

Back to Monday

Went back to work today. After a week of great late sleep-ins, I did fall asleep with out much problem last night, eventhough I did awake 4:30AM. That's wonderful if that was the time I usually get up. Oh no. It was a good 90 minutes BEFORE my usual time

Even with my alarm set, I can sleep through lawn mowers outside my window and even a boom, shake the house kind of thunderstorm. So I was afraid to even doze for a minute. Hence I've been awake since 4:30AM.

Ain't really feeling that.
OK, if I'd gotten up to write or some thing else constructive (I did give Him Praise tho)---well, fine. Alas, I didn't. A cat curled on my shoulder as we shared a pillow at 4:30AM. His idea set better with me.

Got through work. Now I need to get my trash out by the curb--where is my forever man who is to do this chore?-and then priorities set in: Dancing With the Stars. Being awake since 4:30AM made the wait to see if Lawrence Taylor and Steve-O can step up their game made the wait just little bit longer.

Pop some corn and Stay tuned!

Sunday....

It's about 4 pm. A cat is in the window. One of them anyway....my a/c just came on. A taste of what summer will be here in Texas. You would think I'd know by now.

Today has been glorious day. This morning, I headed to church and got my Praise on. Pastor preached from Acts 4. Good, Good stuff.

Even in the midst of my troubles, I am joyful. What more can I say?

In the name of Jesus.

Amen.
