Monday Marks

Since we last met up on Friday, I have fought sneezes, watery eyes and occaisonal cough. Sinus stuff brought on my the change of weather. It was to happen sooner or later. What I have realized is my battle is still lost with the sneezes, etc, yet the wounds aren't as bad. Nope. When I first to Dallas and this set in. Oh MY! Lost my voice, Sneezed enough to be put into the Guinness World Book of records and just was miserable. I'd get sick in Iowa, yet in Dallas--it was a whole 'nother thing***Now, not so much fevers any more. I know what meds to pop. Voice doesn't disappear as it once did. And Puffs tissues are now made with lotion, so my nose doesn't get as raw. As I have tried to script these last few sentences, I have sneezed times. Cats ran. The tissue pile grows***In the meantime, I can smell my soup cook on the stove. Almost time for one of my fave TV shows to come on, and my covers are calling me. I'll just make sure I don't disturb the ginger tabby cat.

Pet Loss

To lose a pet is hard. People that are real animal people know what I mean. I've been one of those folks who say they'll get a 'replacement pet'--every animal is different, just like a human. Replacement pet is wrong verbiage. If that's the case, I've had a lot of 'replacement men."
Perry, who I called My One had his own personality going on. When I took him to the vet for the first time, when he was a kitten, to get him checked out--the vet even smiled and said "You going to love his disposition." By that time, Perry had run all over the office, hid under bags of food, hollered at me and swiped the vet. Ha! When it gets closer to Christmas, I'll repeat the story of how Perry beat up Santa Claus. Santa needed a first aide kit...
Perry let the rest of the cats know I was his. He'd share me some, yet when it came to sleeping arrangements, he was on the pillow next to me. He was the only one who could pet my head and hair--with his claws out. Perry would be right on top of me--it's funny, his heir apparent, Noir would sleep on the other side of me--almost equal to Perry's distance. I think they fought over me--in their mancat way.
I buried Perry under the crepe myrtle tree like I said I would. One of my rose bushes had a single rose, so that and some white flowers pretty up Perry's grave. It was hard to put Perry in there. I had him wrapped in a towel, so he could be close to me and then a bag, for my false sense of keeping the elements out. When I bought this house, in 2008, I thought I have a pretty place to put my pets--I just didn't think it would be so soon.
Perry feels better now. I ask what could I have done differently? He was sick, I know--so the reaction to the antibiotics didn't help. Perry was only nine years old--I just knew we were going to be together for more years.
And in my spirit, he will be.

A Bit

Of time is all I'll spend here tonight....
It seems like alot has happened since we last met up and first I've started my newest college class--this one is about a human's life span. Might kinda cool and creepy, because we're pretty much talking about ourselves. One of my assignments will be to observe people in different points of their lives--like my first one is for babies--yea, this is going to be interesting.

Saturday is going to be an interesting day by far, and it's all pretty local, unlike going to Oklahoma City last week! I'm going to a bible study that morning. What's a kicker about that, well--it's on Saturday, and I'll be meeting with girls I haven't worked with 2003. We've kept in touch, yet I never once thought we'd hang out talk about the bible. Glad we are tho.

Then once that's done, I head to my writers' group. I've written nothing fiction in I don't how long. The college papers have wasted me. I need to find time to really put pen to paper, and not just for moment or two. That will be another nice time of fellowship along with some writing stuff...

Then--I don't know if this is still on tap--another chum is to have a CD signing party later on that night. I've not heard anymore plans about it. He's got a nice voice, so I hope it happens. If not--well, I'll be home curled up with a cat...or

Get another chum to go see "Wall Street" with me.

Yep. Saturday. Looking forward to you. Gotta enjoy Thursday and Friday tho before, even tho professionally--things do stink, however I won't let the stench steal my joy...

Not even for a bit.

Monday Miffed

Yes, I still heart me some Dallas Cowboys-
However I still can't get over how and why they LOST!
Sure the game was a mess, yet they had WON the game until....
WOW. I still can't stand handle it. The had the game WON.
OK. It's Monday. I'm tired. I couldn't fall right asleep after the game was over
I tried to think of somebody to call. at almost 11pm at night. Those kinda calls are
Out of my repertoire.
So sometime after midnight, I fell asleep, which made me tired thru today.
I'm so beat now.
Did some school work and thought of the 2100 word paper on my personal model of helping due next Monday. Heck, that will wait until tomorrow. Then had a thought on a couple menfolk I know. Now, that makes me smile. And the wedding (not mine) I'm going to on Saturday and the bride just beamed today at work. Then I spoke of my novella to a couple folks...always good. Then....
I thought of the Dallas Cowboys and got miffed again. Only this time, I will not have a problem going to sleep. I'm taking lessons from this kitty:

I see an "A+" in my future....

Relationships III

Things come in 3's, the word is. So it's 3 posts on relationships--for now.
I've slept on and thought of my emotions from yesterday. Pretty dag gum deep for me. I didn't share with anyone, even my BFF, what I felt yesterday--until today. Then I didn't go into a lot of detail, just more the hi-lights of it.

Why? Because she's lady, we'll call her Dunne, who has uplifted me about my small business ideas, from selling' pies to cat lovers things. We hadn't chatted lately until now. I told about the 'Dream Big" my pastor Rickie Rush preached and how I thought of her of her Big Dream. You see, Dunne has a picture of her dream house (more like a mansion)on her cubical wall. She told me God has it all worked out and coulda been waiting for her to take a step. We both said you have to speak what you want to will it. If you just have a thought--it's just that--a thought. Words make it so.

I told Dunne how you never know where angels are going to be. Dunne said how MLG was an angel to show me anything is possible--it's not too late to do your passions. OK, I'm giving you just hi-lights, however the chat with Dunne was free and easy, even tho we met in April, and hadn't spoken since June. We laughed like we would over coffee at Starbucks, except we stood by the sinks in the women's restroom, at our jobs.

I remember when my My Sweet Big Daddy Don passed away in 2001, I felt so lonely. Both of my parents were now gone and I was an adult orphan. Loneliness consumed. Sure, I knew people, but the weekends were the darkest days of my week even the sun's beams blinded. I'd sit on my couch and realize the 'friends' I had were no even close to being there for me as I was for them. I cried alot.

I wasn't much into in my Spiritual Walk in 2001 (the beginning was still two years away) yet I asked God would there ever be a day I'd have good friends. Friends that I could count on. Friends who "get me" and we would laugh at the same thing with just once glance at each other.

The chat with Dunne showed me relationships are not 'one size fits' all. .

The day I cried for is here.
Thank God.
I am blessed.

Sunday...Already?

Man on man, where did the time go? It's Sunday and of course I have some paper to write for school. Let's see, it is: "Hypothectical Working Agreement"...sure.

Let's talk about something FUN! Got my praise on at MY church, Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush today. The tricks Satan uses on us to rob our faith. Powerful stuff. All these messages have hit me right where I live. The blessings are there. Satan knows that. He's tried ways upon ways to steal my thunder. At times I've let him. ...Yet all is good. Just keep my eye on the prize. And I look unto the hills where my help comes from.

Now get this, yesterday I chatted with a minister I'd befriended a few years ago. The Minister attended the writers' conference I volunteered with yesterday. Also, back when I was in ICU with my little open heart adventure, she came to visit me. Yesterday, was the first time we'd seen each other in all these months since I'd left my/her original home church. The thing was she called me "Shade Tree Preacher." Huh? Long story short, Minister said she's always seen a light in me and said people come to me because of what I say and do. I just looked at her. Me? She went on to say Shade Tree is a person who does the work, but doesn't have the sign out front sayin' so. I still just looked at her. Minister said alot of stuff I still must ponder. Oh how my life has so changed. Maybe I'll share more one of these posts...

Can't believe it's SUNDAY. Did I tell y'all I did see "Toy Story" last week? LOVED it and got quite weepy at the end.

Oh, the writers' conference yesterday was GREAT! Met some nice folks. Badgered by one of them with WHERE was my next book? OK, she was an author who spoke and happens to be a chum of mine. Learned lots and enjoyed being around other writer people. Once I got home tho, I enjoyed being on my bed, under the ceiling the fan, with a cat to pet and remote in hand...
On that note--I'm outta here. Still some Sunday left to enjoy with a little Blue Bell Banana Pudding Ice Cream on the side....!

Monday Memorial Day

A day to remember those who fought for our freedom,
And for family and friends, who have left us.
Today was a good day--just to remember--
Even tho, on a lighter note when I saw "Ironman 2"
Starring a very attractive Robert Downey Jr.
I dozed off for a few minutes--
I realized I did because my snoring woke me up....
So yea, the movie disappointed me some :)
As for now, the weekend is bout done-
A cat meows as he walk thru the house--
Which is my signal..
And so that's a wrap.

10:32 PM

As I script this. Yes, I'm tired. Last night I was up until after Midnight to work on a 1500 word paper on about vulnerable populations and their history, impact and ...well...yea.

I got a good start on it, 1100 words out of the needed 1500. However, it was still after midnight, more like after 1am, when I called it a night. Which may not have been a problem to sleep in on a any other Saturday, except for one of the rare times in recent years I planned to do OT -at 7AM. Taking Coumadin slows me just a bit more, if I don't get enough rest. I feel the fatigue more--so...

Well...yea. I made it to work 7:35 AM with a French Vanilla Cappuccino in hand. My new boss, is just a few years younger, handsome and loves to flirt with me--alas, he's married. So my French Vanilla Cappuccino kept me captive.

Left there about 11:20AM because I had my writers' group at noon--which was planned a month ago, and 25 miles from where I was. My turned to bring the treats, which I'd planned to bake, alas I bought a chocolate cake instead. I was tired, yet a blessing to be there. Our oldest member is 79 years young and being treated for Stage 4 Breast cancer--which has been zapped from her body. This woman is such an inspiration.

Anyway--long story short---after all that, errands, plus a an hour or so to lie down and pet a cat. I got back on my 1500 word paper on vulnerable populations. Technically, it's due by 2AM my time. It's submitted, plus I did my comments on other classmates' threads. I do think my paper sucks, yet I had 4 resources and did it in the require APA format.

So, now it's 10:45. I'm even more tired and hungry. That turkey sameech I had a million hours ago has long gone. Can't have cereal because the milk is past the expiration date. I just leave it in the fridge to make it seem I have something in there.... :)

OK--this is the kitty who kept me company during my torture at the PC. Now he'll curl up to me and purr.

Well...yea, I'm quite vulnerable to that...

Saturday Siesta

Just taking a break for a couple days.

All good.
Sent my submission for Chicken Soul of the Soup
Splotches of Glidden Paint on different walls--
Cute samples--had little brushes in the tester bottles.
Cherries Jubilee and Gingerbread House are winning
Had a wonderful time today with a bunch of ladies
At a chum's house, who is in midst of writing a book about goals--
Quite the empowerment moment-
Great girl gab and great food-
Inspired me to keep on my with my dream--
Gotta get comfy, so a cat can curl on my lap
As I delve back into "Screenwriting for Dummies"
Stay tuned.

Still Sunday

As the sun still shines I tried to trim the bushes outside my front door. I guess I didn't realize they would grow--or how full and tall--like to my chest-they would get. Just thought they would stay pretty like they did when we had 12 inches of snow in February.

Wrong. Let's just say I used some clippers from the Dollar General and clipped away. I don't think I killed it. I mean I trimmed my wisteria a few weeks back--not really knowing what I was doing--and it still has leaves. Anyhoo, my bushes still need work--but they are not as bushy...

It being Sunday, you know I headed to Inspiring of Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush, this morning. At one point, the sanctuary's nights were shut off to help explain the message: about your vision of the plan God has for us. Trust me--it worked. The main thing, on this day was, I joined the church--when the lights were off, and they did come back on! :)
I'm still dazed and a bit confused I joined, along with 251 others. We have New Member Orientation on May 15. I didn't plan to join- Heck no. I was content to be a "BootLeg Member"--basically you keep on comin' to church, but don't join. That's me. I'm OK with that--I guess until today.

Part of the message hit me hard: when you are anointed, expect to go walk on by yourself. Folks you care most about, are the ones who most don't get your vision. I've run into that of late. You don't care for them less, you just know they can't come with you--at least for now. Be prepared to be alone--and I am.

Outside of all this, a GRAND day, even if my bushes don't think so! This cat rests on my desk's edge:

Plus I have an "A" in my current college class, Blue Bell Ice Cream in the freezer, a NY Best Selling author asks me questions about MY writing, and I have my Vision...
I am blessed.

It's 10:54 PM

As I write this. I'm beat.
In charge of editing our team paper for my college class.
I will quit my stress over my own papers
After doing this. Oh MY, is all I can say.
I pray we get a good grade.
I don't like being up this late--even if it is just 11pm-
Get a second wind and usually can't sleep-
Ever since my surgery, in 2006, my body can
Be quite funky when I am tired --
The fatigue, at times make, me want to
Fall asleep in the space where I stand-literally
Along with my eyes burn--like now.
So no witty words tonight--
I'm tired.
I bid you good night-
Must say my prayers

And ask that He wakes me up tomorrow
To it all over again....

Thoughts of Past Loves

The Holidays are pretty much right here. Yep.  Especially since three Christmas movies, in the last three days, between Lifetime and Ha...
