Relationships

My mind is overwhelmed. Relationships.
How I've I've known men who are grown, yet I've met grown men.
There's a difference. And I prefer the grown men.

Remember male lead guy in the play I went to go see: "Blues In The Night?" Wasn't really a love connection, yet the opportunity to become good friends. In fact, I saw the play a second time yesterday. He didn't know I was there, and that was kinda cool. Why?

Because here's a guy who lives his passion. Acting. Singing. I could see it. He's only about one of a handful of friends who actually do what they absolutely love. And this guy could maybe be a good friend of mine. To give insight and support to my own walk on my path of passions: i.e. writing.

Well, last night, we texted up til about the moment he hit the stage at 8PM--to 7:56 to be precise. In the conversation, he tells me he's going back to NYC on Monday, at 8:30AM. I'm like "Huh?" I knew he was going back. He's lived there for about a decade. His family is here in Dallas, and the plan was to be in Dallas for just a couple weeks--and that was January. So yea, it was time.

So I'm fortunate to have met him. I am bummed because he doesn't know when he'll be back, and I thought 'Drat, there goes my chat over cappuccino."

Relationships have a reason for their own season. Ours may have just been just for these 15 minutes of fame. The male lead guy impacted me in positive way I hadn't felt in awhile. Then at MY church, Inspiring of Body Christ with Pastor Rickie Rush said we don't always DREAM BIG.

My new chum who heads to another time zone tomorrow showed me how Big dreams DO come true.

I am blessed.

10:32 PM

As I script this. Yes, I'm tired. Last night I was up until after Midnight to work on a 1500 word paper on about vulnerable populations and their history, impact and ...well...yea.

I got a good start on it, 1100 words out of the needed 1500. However, it was still after midnight, more like after 1am, when I called it a night. Which may not have been a problem to sleep in on a any other Saturday, except for one of the rare times in recent years I planned to do OT -at 7AM. Taking Coumadin slows me just a bit more, if I don't get enough rest. I feel the fatigue more--so...

Well...yea. I made it to work 7:35 AM with a French Vanilla Cappuccino in hand. My new boss, is just a few years younger, handsome and loves to flirt with me--alas, he's married. So my French Vanilla Cappuccino kept me captive.

Left there about 11:20AM because I had my writers' group at noon--which was planned a month ago, and 25 miles from where I was. My turned to bring the treats, which I'd planned to bake, alas I bought a chocolate cake instead. I was tired, yet a blessing to be there. Our oldest member is 79 years young and being treated for Stage 4 Breast cancer--which has been zapped from her body. This woman is such an inspiration.

Anyway--long story short---after all that, errands, plus a an hour or so to lie down and pet a cat. I got back on my 1500 word paper on vulnerable populations. Technically, it's due by 2AM my time. It's submitted, plus I did my comments on other classmates' threads. I do think my paper sucks, yet I had 4 resources and did it in the require APA format.

So, now it's 10:45. I'm even more tired and hungry. That turkey sameech I had a million hours ago has long gone. Can't have cereal because the milk is past the expiration date. I just leave it in the fridge to make it seem I have something in there.... :)

OK--this is the kitty who kept me company during my torture at the PC. Now he'll curl up to me and purr.

Well...yea, I'm quite vulnerable to that...

Monday Madness

You head out the door to your Pumpkin to drive to work. You really didn't want to go anyway, because you've been pretty much awake since 3:45 that morning. Due to having to make a potty run, and not quite falling back asleep. You ease closer to your Pumpkin and you see it. A flat. You call your boss to inform her you'll be at Shawshank as soon as you get someone to change it. You're usually a strong Chaka Khan I'm every kinda woman, however mechanics, of any kind, are your not your thing. This morning, you are a damsel in distress. You're just glad you're distressing in your drive way. Anyway, the second you hang up with your boss, the lights flicker and off goes your electricity. This is 7:45 am. You're afraid you missed the electric bill disconnect bill, when you're usually so good about. :) You realize your Pumpkin still has some warranty, so you call Road Side Assistance. You're told it would be 40 minutes. They lied. The guy didn't show until about 9:30ish--due to being with the last customer. He wasn't bad looking, so you overlook it. After her fixes your tire, he tells you three times however if you have any trouble, just give him a call. Maybe the guy was being nice. You get to work after a stop at 7-11 for a white cupcake cappuccino--you're kinda ticked because the pumpkin latte was replaced with french vanilla. So you get to work by 10:45. You know you should stay to make up time. You leave at your usual 4:30. Oh well. There's trash to put by the curb, salad to eat, cats to pet, Young and the Restless to watch because Lilly now knows Billy is Chloe's baby Daddy, and poor forgetful Mrs. C has been kidnapped, Jill thinks the DNA results she's told are true, and.....well, there's just things you need to do.

Cue up Chaka Khan.
