Whisk Wednesday

Headed back to work today. I tell ya, nice to have the days off. Not so nice trying to get back in the swing of things. Got it rollin' tho. And that was all good.

A work chum asked me why I did not invite her to the book signing last night. Told her didn't she was interested (most of my chums aren't) and I didn't have her number. Work chum asks, "You don't have my number?" Then starts to fuss, in playing sorta way, I didn't invite her and asked a bunch of questions about the author (that she didn't recognize) and the signing (how many people were there?). All in all she says, "Oh, well, I was at choir practice anyway." Yea, and that's why I don't invite many folks to what I do.

As I gathered my keys and purple sunglasses, other co-workers asked "Are you leaving?" I stayed an extra hour, and plan to go in early tomorrow. Stuff I need to do in my other life away from work and besides Vampire Bill awaits for me in True Blood.

The co-worker chums kept working. "You have time to do things away from here? You have a life?"

Why yes...yes, I do.

Stay tuned.

A Bit

Of time is all I'll spend here tonight....
It seems like alot has happened since we last met up and first I've started my newest college class--this one is about a human's life span. Might kinda cool and creepy, because we're pretty much talking about ourselves. One of my assignments will be to observe people in different points of their lives--like my first one is for babies--yea, this is going to be interesting.

Saturday is going to be an interesting day by far, and it's all pretty local, unlike going to Oklahoma City last week! I'm going to a bible study that morning. What's a kicker about that, well--it's on Saturday, and I'll be meeting with girls I haven't worked with 2003. We've kept in touch, yet I never once thought we'd hang out talk about the bible. Glad we are tho.

Then once that's done, I head to my writers' group. I've written nothing fiction in I don't how long. The college papers have wasted me. I need to find time to really put pen to paper, and not just for moment or two. That will be another nice time of fellowship along with some writing stuff...

Then--I don't know if this is still on tap--another chum is to have a CD signing party later on that night. I've not heard anymore plans about it. He's got a nice voice, so I hope it happens. If not--well, I'll be home curled up with a cat...or

Get another chum to go see "Wall Street" with me.

Yep. Saturday. Looking forward to you. Gotta enjoy Thursday and Friday tho before, even tho professionally--things do stink, however I won't let the stench steal my joy...

Not even for a bit.

Tick Tock Time

Tonight I met up with a chum for coffee and girl gab at Starbucks. The cool thing was, her daughter is manager of this said Starbucks so we got free stuff. Free is good.

Had one of my "Want to write a book in a night" itching. Even tho, I know I have to do alot in my new class, it doesn't seem as crammed as the last couple. So I'm going all back to time management, so I can do a "write some of a book in an hour."

On the whole time management thing, I remember when I recuperated from my little adventure of open heart surgery--I had to regain more strength than I realized. So I had my schedule of I'd get up, try to put on some clothes, then take a 10 minute walk which could have been more like 10 hours. I'd have to stop-and wondered if I'd ever be able to talk farther (well I did). I'd go back to my apartment and do what I could, then after I watched my shows, eat and such, I laid down from 2-3:30. Then eventually I gained enough strength to READ. So I'd read a book for an hour.

What I'm getting at: everything had its own time to shine. It worked for me. And I"m trying to get back to this. I can't add time to the clock, yet I can use the time I have.

Like my chum and I talked about business ideas and she said she 'just didn't have the time." I told her we sat in Starbucks for TWO hours! We both laughed.

Yet, two hours do the best with.

Make the most with it, because ya ain't gonna get it back...time.

Almost Been

....a week since I've stopped by. My, oh my..it's not you, it's ME. Stuff just seemed to be on the docket and not time enough time for everything. I think my problem would be solved with a lap top, then I could tippy tap anywhere....hmm.

OK. Today is the 18th straight day of 100F heat here in Dallas. OK, talked enough about that

Last week, I'd mentioned about going to a play in Ft Worth by hitchin' a ride with the male lead guy in the show. Well, I did and had a GREAT time! Here's what the play's flyer looks like. This weekend is closing weekend and would like to try to go again. The male lead guy was fun and made me laugh during the ride and even in the show. I really couldn't believe it was the same person. On the way to Ft Worth, he's got on glasses and short, then on stage he's all dapper in his vest and slacks, singin' and hoofin'...Oh, and get this, a lady saw us as we got food before the show. The the male lead guy left for the theater to get ready, and I stayed behind because I had time to kill---and she asked where do you go to find the good men like him? She thought we were married or at least GF and BF. I laughed and told her this was first time we'd ever spent time together and just friends we are. Oh, and the lady and I chatted until I went to the theatre--about an hour later!

Oh, this past Saturday night, I ventured to a book launch for a chum of mine. Mingled as they say. Ran into old co-workers and loved that. Worked with them both years ago, and now the two are married. He's a video guy, plus quite the cutie, and has an episode on DIY Network in October, he shot. Anyway, we talked writing, movies etc--and the wife, who is one of the sweetest folks you'd want to met-told me when I have screenplay to show, show them because you just may never who they know and what could happen

Right now, I know what IS gonna happen. Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and TV. I've been so wrapped in doing more than I even mentioned--so tonight is a break--until tomorrow.

Toodles.

Saturday Just...

HOT.

Got up and headed to the grocery store and I think that's about it for me today. On the outside anyway. You can tell I wasn't too serious about other errands if I didn't pop in my contacts in. Nope, got my 100 year old bent, scartched up glasses on.

Suppose to creep to 104 degrees F today. Joy. I'm gonna make my own iced coffee. I seem to buy it everyday, why not save my couple bucks? Got watermelon. Even got peach sorbet instead of my ice cream. It was on sale, so I'll give it shot. Could be tasty. I'll let you know.

In the meantime, gonna work on my stories for my novella. I think I finally have the idea, which really was the original idea--a collection of short stories, with the same backdrop. I tried to change it up, yet the original idea really is the best.

So stuff to get done. And I promise myself I won't take too much of lead from these kitties...

Well, maybe not TOO much....

Woo Hoo!

NO school work to do tonight! Got it ALL done at work today--!
Even some of my job too :)

Did I tell you I eyed a treadmill at Wal-mart the other day? GREAT price. Was in a box tho. So WHO puts it together? Until that mystery is solved, the treadmill stays in the box, in the store.

Hot again. 103 degrees F, with a heat index of 107--or was that 109--or really who cares? I put a pie pan of water for the birds in the back yard. It's cute to see them just stand in it. My backyard animals eat so much better than me--they need to get a job.

Last few days, as I've talked to folks, I've noticed they take quick look at my chest. I'm thinking, gee, are the bon-bons that over flowing? Then I remember, I've worn a shirt where some of my scar shows. Ya know, from that little open heart surgery adventure had back in '06. My scar got all thick and I've learned to deal with it. I know my scar makes some uneasy, yet I'm glad I've finally got to the point to let it hang all out. It does clash with stuff I wear sometimes, which is what ticks me--so I dust my scar with a little powder and off I go.

I recall a conversation about scars, with a non-physically scar'd chum. She made mention how some might wear their scar as a medal of honor instead of covering it. She had a vote for the covering it up. I responded how it IS my medal of honor, cuz if I didn't have it, I'd be dead about now.

And I ain't feelin' that.

So that note, I'm gonna end it for the day. Got me some FUN FICTION writing to do and Blue Bell Cookies n Cream Ice Cream to help shield from the heat!

It's ALL good--WOO HOO!

And then....

It's Saturday
Feel like staying in bed.
I mean, doesn't this kitty's eyes pretty much speak it?

Alas I must rise. Do wanna get errands do before before the sun bakes us. In fact, there's a play in Ft Worth I want to see. A guy, I kinda know, is the male lead. Well, he's the only male in it. Of course, in my spoiled only child way, I don't want to see WAAAAAAAAAAAY back in the theatre. Now forget there's only 100 or so seats in the theatre, so how bad can the seats really be?

Other stuff on tap today too. I have a writing schedule of non-fiction stuff for school and FUN fiction stuff. Stay tuned on all that. I'm enjoying the FUN fiction stuff. The set up is sorta changed from what I had before. Plus, I realize I need to jot the notes down of my changes--because--well, I can't remember them. Guess I'm not as Supergirl as I thought!

And then
Coconut cream pie and a cup o coffee will
May just be on the Saturday playlist too.

The Holidays are pretty much right here. Yep.  Especially since three Christmas movies, in the last three days, between Lifetime and Ha...
