Temp was 100 F something--again--today.
The record of triple digit heat in Dallas is 69 days.
Today was either the 59th or 60th day.
Honestly, does it really matter?
After work, I headed to my new school to get my
Text books. Very nice campus. Victorian looking. Felt right.
View was gorgeous, The campus sits up on a hill and
Overlooks a lake, and ton of forestry.
I like it. Felt good. Felt right.
So now home, the a/c still cranks
And I'm gonna plot myself on the couch
To take a look at my new school books
Then get to Season 3 of True Blood.
Hey, after some fancy book learnin'
The sauna still is workin' cuz
I need me a bite or two of Vampire Bill...

Trickle Down On Thursday
The 102 degree or so Dallas heat does that to you.
No worries. On my way home from work,
I zipped thru the drive-thru of an ice cream shoppe
For a scoop of cherries, pecans, and cream...
In a waffle cone.
Good stuff
Made the heat bearable
Or I coulda done just this:

Thursday trickles to a close
Gotta pop some corn and watch me
Some True Blood...

Whisk Wednesday
A work chum asked me why I did not invite her to the book signing last night. Told her didn't she was interested (most of my chums aren't) and I didn't have her number. Work chum asks, "You don't have my number?" Then starts to fuss, in playing sorta way, I didn't invite her and asked a bunch of questions about the author (that she didn't recognize) and the signing (how many people were there?). All in all she says, "Oh, well, I was at choir practice anyway." Yea, and that's why I don't invite many folks to what I do.
As I gathered my keys and purple sunglasses, other co-workers asked "Are you leaving?" I stayed an extra hour, and plan to go in early tomorrow. Stuff I need to do in my other life away from work and besides Vampire Bill awaits for me in True Blood.
The co-worker chums kept working. "You have time to do things away from here? You have a life?"
Why yes...yes, I do.
Stay tuned.

Just 'bout over...
Sunday that is. Another hot one here in Dallas. I'm sure it was over 100 degrees F today. Just summer in Texas. You get use to it and drink lots of water. Today was good. The whole weekend has been good.
Tomorrow is Independence Day, here in the United States. I hope I finally have independence on my terra cotta pots. At least more than I have. :) I've chosen the shade of white I will use for the pot's base, while the rims will be colors to accent what is in the photo. I do look forward to doing this. Excited really. My rule is less is more and that makes a statement. I'm glad I do have Monday and Tuesday off. This oughta be good!
In the meantime, as Sunday comes to a close, I am gonna hop in my jammies and watch another episode of "True Blood." I don't have HBO, so not ever seen any of this show. A co-worker loaned me Season 1-3 before the long holiday. I am hooked. Something about a vampire named "Bill" intrigues me.
Stay tuned.

Another Day
That's what today is. However it's a Tuesday and I'm taking a one night breather from school. I am gonna jump on next week's assignments tomorrow--the writing part, mainly. I plan to read some stuff tonight. I printed it off so not to be glued to the PC. I am just too old school to read more than a few paragraphs on the PC. Give me a handful of book or papers and I am set.
I'm in a TV and movie kinda mode. Does anybody watch "True Blood" on HBO? Am I missing something? I don't have HBO, for one--however I know the DVD's are available. Then "Toy Story" comes out this week. At first, I wasn't gonna both--then I heard the voice of Tom Hanks just one too many times---so...could be my treat for the weekend.
And gave a thought to past relationships. How in a way I miss the relationship and not quite the person. Is that wrong? I ponder about a man who still lives in Chicago--the only man I was ever with and looked at a "BRIDES" magazine. I just knew! He adored me. I wish that could have been enough. Was I too much for him? Probably. I realize as I've aged, I was pretty much too much for most men. They said I expected too much from them.
Really?
At the time, I didn't realize they didn't expect much of themselves.
Blue Bell Vanilla Cookies n Cream Ice Cream awaits.
