At 70 Days...

The triple digits temps may be gone for the year. Here in Dallas, we hope this to be true. Yesterday we hit a record high of 107, which also broke the record of 69 days of 100 or above heat. Tonight and tomorrow, we are now headed for a 20 degree drop in temps, plus a few raindrops. This city aches for both. The cat wants a window open more than just a few minutes in the morning. She desires all day whiffs of the fresh, cool air. Yea, and about 3 million humans want the same thing. Stay tuned.

And...

Monday aka another sizzler. I had a Starbucks Mocha Frappucino. I should just wear an I-V filled with the stuff all day!

Anyway, made it thru the day. My once cute, natural curly when I left the house this morning hair frizzed up today. Yea, I know it's part the heat and whatever product I'm using that ain't doing what it should be doing. I don't remember frizzin' up this bad last summer. Although, it wasn't quite this hot last summer.

In a nutshell, the hair and I did survive--for another day!

That's all that much matters.

Unfortunatly, I had to walk about 2 blocks to my car when I left work.
Being a little late this morn caused me to not have such a great parking spot.
Not so much tomorrow.
The lemonade I helped me battle the 110 degree heat.
Suppose to be that hot still on Wednesday..

Of course, my car just had drops left in its tank and the

Gas station was all but only 5 mins from work,

I thought sure I would run out of gas and then

Melt into a pool of chocolate as I waited for help...

Thank God that didn't happen--made it to the the station

Almost melted anyway as I stood pumpin' gas..

So today was record day for temps-

Tomorrow could be 109.

Yippee.

Oh, and tomorrow will be the 32nd straight day of 100 temps..

Yippee part two.

That's what it was today. Brrr. Put on the parka!! OK. Picture is my backyard February 2011...Glad it's the weekend anyway! Heat or no heat. It's still Friday. So much to think about: Terra Cotta Pots (making a good prototype)-Jot my plan down for Etsy.com-Finish last paper for in my last class of this particular school-Toss stuff out in my Summer Clean frenzy- Work on the resume-Visit Facebook-Pet a cat-Eat 'Cake and Sprinkles" ice cream-Watch "True Blood"-All indoor activities-After all Saturday will be our 28th straight day of just 100 degee heat. Indoor indeed.

Kinda wish I had a twist of lime for-well-of course, with me, I'd buy 3 limes, use half of one and the rest would just rot.

Haven't been here in awhile. Did done the school thing, which included a paper due last night. I got it in. So quite tired tonight. Got another due next Monday--and I cannot wait until the last minute to do it.

Fretted about money. Yea, OK...NEXT!

Had to get my Coumadin level checked on Monday-which I call my POKE, cuz my finger gets poked for a drop of my blood. Ya know, to check if its too thick/too thin, since I have my little mechanical mitral valve clicking away inside me. Can't have any clots forming around it. Was in my range, so I don't have to go back for a month. Been doing the Coumadin since March 2006. Hard to imagine my life without it or the scar on my chest. Medal of honor in a way. I survived.

Wait--remember last week I spoke of Bear's Facebook's status was changed to 'married' and I text'd him congrats? Well, never heard from the guy until Saturday. Said he the account was hacked into by somebody who was trying to cute and funny. My thought: it was probably the female who wanted TO change that status to married. What made me feel good was, I was really OK with him being married.

So as Dallas bakes in over 100 degrees F oven, I'm off to munch salad, pet a cat and give me a one night school break with aLOT of TV.
