Tired on a Tuesday

Exactly.
I'm not even going to go into some long winded about what I could talk about, because--
Well, I'm tired.
Fatigued.
The job I have is not quite brain surgery, yet
It drains so. Just don't feel there's enough time.
Anyway.
I'm off to watch a Michelle Phfiffer(sp?) movie on HBO
Where she's involved with a younger man....
Hmm.
Gosh, like I've not lived THAT story!
I'm so tired, I don't even feel like talking about it--
So, I'm gonna get:

And curl with cat in front of the TV....
Tired on a Tuesday deserves it.

Twist

Kinda wish I had a twist of lime for-well-of course, with me, I'd buy 3 limes, use half of one and the rest would just rot.

Bad Thomasina.

Haven't been here in awhile. Did done the school thing, which included a paper due last night. I got it in. So quite tired tonight. Got another due next Monday--and I cannot wait until the last minute to do it.

Fretted about money. Yea, OK...NEXT!

Had to get my Coumadin level checked on Monday-which I call my POKE, cuz my finger gets poked for a drop of my blood. Ya know, to check if its too thick/too thin, since I have my little mechanical mitral valve clicking away inside me. Can't have any clots forming around it. Was in my range, so I don't have to go back for a month. Been doing the Coumadin since March 2006. Hard to imagine my life without it or the scar on my chest. Medal of honor in a way. I survived.

Wait--remember last week I spoke of Bear's Facebook's status was changed to 'married' and I text'd him congrats? Well, never heard from the guy until Saturday. Said he the account was hacked into by somebody who was trying to cute and funny. My thought: it was probably the female who wanted TO change that status to married. What made me feel good was, I was really OK with him being married.

Come a long way, Thomasina.

So as Dallas bakes in over 100 degrees F oven, I'm off to munch salad, pet a cat and give me a one night school break with aLOT of TV.

Twist of lime in a strawberry limeade....

March 11, 2006 was Saturday

This day in 2006, I still remained in the hospital. Had visitors in and out. My open heart surgery was scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday. Looking back, maybe they wanted to get in what they thought might be their last words to me. A friend, later on said, she thought they were going to lose me. Well, I had other plans.

On this particular day, Bear was one of the last visitors. Turns out Bear was kinda ticked at me. Why? Well, because I didn't tell him first thing I was in the hospital. I'd been there a week before I told him. Bear felt because of our past, I would have told him. Well, in my opinion, because of our past is why I didn't tell him. At that moment in time, Bear and I had little to do with each other, for weeks and months. Why would I want to share anything with him? Yet, I knew it was the right thing to do. I knew Bear would pray for me, and I needed all the prayers I could get!

I recall, I sat in a chair, donned in my faded hospital gown while Bear sat across from me. We've never spoken of what he thought that day. Looking back, I do believe Bear was scared. Except for the gown and being in a hospital and getting my BP checked about every hour, I was still me. Bear had a hard time with my illness--as time wore on, to a degree, I think he still does. You see, his dad passed away of heart issues at a young 58. There are times I wonder if Bear sees his Dad in me--which is only something Bear can answer. I've tried to reassure him of my health...

Fast forward to this day in 2010. Another gorgeous almost Spring Day. Received some good words from my classmates in this online class I'm in. That made me feel good. Gotta get my trash to the curb, chow on some salad, pet a cat and settle down to my Thursday TV watching--this is a night for me.

I am blessed.

So Much Soak

Rain. Lots of it. Came home and saw some trim from my carport on the ground. As was the branch that, I'm sure, helped it down. Major storm blew through Dallas. Enough wind to cause the Dallas Cowboy training facility's roof to collapse. Stories still filter out. Rookie training cap was going on. Right now, I've heard of not too many serious injuries. Stay tuned. And say a prayer.

For me, from Friday morning until about 1:15pm today, had no internet, land phone or TV. However, I could watch stuff I'd DVR'd, so all was not lost. My stuff is a Verizon FiOS bundle. I just blew it off yesterday morning, when I had no channels--just thought Verizon had some internal prob going on and would be fixed by the time I got home.

Wrong.

By the time I got home from work, it was too late for a tech to come out. He showed today about 11:20ish and left about 1:15 pm. Replaced my outside unit, plus my battery pack inside--amongst my clutter in that back bedroom. Oh well, it's MY clutter. About 10 mins after he finished--and everything worked- I headed out to meet chums for meeting/lunch. We sat and munced burritos as said storm blew in. Rain pounded the eatery's windows hard enough for the clock on the inside was pushed away from it.

Anyway, all is good. I'm safe. TV works as thunder roars, lightening brightens, plus rain rinses and it's still the weekend. Saturday the calendar says. So let's cue alittle Sir Elton John who tells us what Saturday is allright for:

April 12, 1950 was Wednesday

....and the day David Cassidy was born!

I can't believe the groovy and just too cute guy who dazzled me and a gazillion other girls as Keith Partridge back in the 70's, turns 59 today! I bet David's got his share of AARP membership invites, just like me. Wonder if David tosses 'em--just like me? If David hasn't, I'd be willing to let him use one of those AARP discounts on me for a long over due wanna be Tiger Beat kinda date.

See, back when I was a teen, I just KNEW David and I were destined! How did I know? Well, it had nothing to do with I was in Iowa and David wasn't even close to that time zone. Nope, it had to do with we both were born in April and in the SAME decade.

Yea. OK. Laugh if you well. My mom probably tried to hide her laughter when I made this announcement. Does show how creative I was even then to use my imagination! Do what I could to make something point in my direction. Let's say, like Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise did on the Kobayashi Maru because --er--that's another post!

Back to David.

So grown up and with that gorgeous hair! How could one girl not fall for him? Kept a soft spot for David even when I moved on to the Osmonds, to boys right in front of me instead of in a magazine, to when I got older and had the desire to have legs like Tina Turner legs (which I still don't have!)--always wanted David to still be there. That the public thought of David in a positive light, whether they saw him as still Keith Partridge, or adult TV actor or Broadway star, especially as years crept upon us all.

So cue up the song that proves David was always on my mind...Happy Birthday!
