Thunder on Tuesday....

Rain with a bit of a light show accompanied by thunder boom every now and then. The best thing is, my car gets a free car wash....:)

I had planned to do stuff around the house. Just clear up and put out stuff. Yet the rain dampened my spirit.

I sat on my love seat and cat sleep on the arm of said seat. His head rested on my shoulder.

How in the world could I disturb a snoozing cat--Especially when all I was going to do was mop my kitchen floor?

Rain on.

'bout done...

Monday that is!
So much rain today-which fell during my drive home aka rush hour.
If Noah and his ark had floated close, I would asked for a ride!
In the meantime, the day was OK.
I believe this day was one more day closer to good things.
The cat does so share my view...

Middle of the Week

And I'm glad. Feels so good to not have homework. This will be a good month off. I'm proud of myself to be one step closer to my sociology degree. Yet, the month to be away from books and such---yea, I'm likin' that bunches. So the cat has such a pensive look. He may be wondering why I went out to the back yard, while a light rain fell--with my umbrella-and picked up a bunch of leaves. Yes, leaves. I am going to try the decoupage of leaves on glass plates again. Not tonight tho. The leaves are damp from the rain--so they dry in paper towels. Maybe the cat wonders if I will clean the litter boxes. Why yes...yes, I will. The cat may just be ignoring me. Which is exactly what he was doing. I called the cat's name--hence the ear lowered. The cat decided I wasn't so important. OK. OK. I get the hint. Litter boxes here I come.

Middle of the week. Not bad...not bad at all.

Since We

Last met up it, the weather has cooled off some here in Dallas. Rained last night. Had my windows open and thought there was a dampness in air. Then booms, as if trees crashed to the ground I heard. Gotta be honest, wasn't that sure what the sound was. Thunder. Long time not heard of sound. The cats ran.

All but this one. He hung with me as we both listened to the rhythm of the fallin' rain.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Saturday Stuff

Feel good 'bout the postcards I sent out. They are arriving to their destinations, including England--at least one of them did. The comments have been positive. I like that a whole lot! Also plan to send postcards to friends across the country. Am I rid of all of them? Not quite--yet almost. I told you, I printed a ton of these suckers. :)

Met up with a chum today and chatted over coffee. I told of her my idea to make one cat sweatshirt/t-shirt well. Not a bunch just average. We brainstormed. Which proves once again I'm not as crafty as I think I am. The picture I see in my head changes about every minute. Sorta kinda know what I want to look like--not sure how I'll get it there. Pretty cool to think of it tho. Stay tuned.

Was a gorgeous day in Dallas. I even washed my car. What a difference a clean car makes...Rain was suppose to fall this afternoon. It didn't. After midnite now said. Perhaps some snow tomorrow in the afternoon. Uh-huh. That may mean none or a foot. Like this picture from February 2010:
..when we did get a foot of snow and the weather folks said we wouldn't....

Got Some

Rain--that is.
Get your mind from the gutter.

It was enough to give my lawn a drink. I really should tend to my lawn more. Better Google on how to do just that.

Today, I gave alot of thought thought about giving up this house and move back to an apartment or townhouse. Let somebody else deal with the stuff. Make the phone call to have the maintenance guy come fix the runny toilet. Not worry about paying to have the grass mowed. I miss having an upstairs--even if it's just a sitting area. Give the illusion of bigger space.

Yes, I love my little house. It aches to be brought into the 21st Century. However, money is needed for that. And I'd feel a bit more comfortable if I had money to pay back the money I'd have to get to move it into the 21st Century. Yet, since literally Closing Day, two years ago, this has been a financial nightmare. Like everyone else, my property values have gone down. I"m upside down on my note. Not much, but enough--I'm confident I could get the same amount out of it--as I drive up and down my streets to see 'for sale/lease' signs decorating them.

The reality is, my utilities are non-existent and I've had no major issues. It's really been the financial end of things. Yep, always about a dollar or lack there of. Thought I was a savvy first time home buyer. Well, I was--to a degree. Not savvy enough, 'cause I still got screwed.
Live and learn
Got some.
Get your mind out of the gutter--

Got some thinking to do
Just hope my light bulb comes on!

Monday

OK. Yesterday it was about 72 degrees. Sun. Nice. GORGEOUS!
Today. Monday. 10 degrees cooler. North wind. Cloudy. Rain maybe.
Nonetheless, got thru the work day, plus
Got my college assignment in on TIME today. Found out
I have a 92.5 average--even with the yucky team project we did.
So the weather folks said the rain may start after 7pm tonight--
Right now it's 5:11pm--so I'm gonna put on my new tennyshoes and do a walk--
Oh wait, I saw my tire has a 'knot' sticking up--maybe I oughta get a new tire first, huh? :)

And since it's Monday and Mondays don't make a whole lotta sense, how 'bout a song that doesn't make much sense either, cuz "Louie, Louie" is MORE fun than a Monday....:)

Wednesday Wonder

Every neighborhood has one. Ya know, the person who knows everybody on the street, what they do and where they go. Mine is Mister Bob. A seventy-something nice ol' gent who informed me right off the bat, he was OK living alone and wasn't looking for a woman.

Well, OK.

Mister Bob also informed me how he once shared coffee with the lady who once lived in this house I now call home. How such a fine lady she was and how saddened he was of her passing. Mister Bob filled me in on every fact of our street.

Mister Bob lives right across the street from me. He's like the dad who watches from the window. I'm sure he has my schedule down. We do our smiles, waves and small chit chat. And ya know know, I felt safe knowing Mister Bob was close at hand.

Yet, I've not seen Mister Bob for about a week. His van wasn't parked there since before Thanksgiving. I knew he had grown kids, so I figured time was spent with them. Then last night, his van re-appeared. Yet, not the way Mister Bob parks it. He's backs into this driveway--his van now is the other way around. With the rain last night, I thought perhaps it was closer to front door for him. Yet, I never saw lights in his house. Turned in early, I thought.

Then tonight I get home. Mister Bob's house was as dark as the sky. The van hasn't moved. I wonder what's going on? It was too late to knock on my other neighbor's door to ask if they knew what happen to Mister Bob. If they know if he's OK. I will make a point to ask them tomorrow.

And for the moment--I don't feel as safe as I did.

Stay tuned.

So Much Soak

Rain. Lots of it. Came home and saw some trim from my carport on the ground. As was the branch that, I'm sure, helped it down. Major storm blew through Dallas. Enough wind to cause the Dallas Cowboy training facility's roof to collapse. Stories still filter out. Rookie training cap was going on. Right now, I've heard of not too many serious injuries. Stay tuned. And say a prayer.

For me, from Friday morning until about 1:15pm today, had no internet, land phone or TV. However, I could watch stuff I'd DVR'd, so all was not lost. My stuff is a Verizon FiOS bundle. I just blew it off yesterday morning, when I had no channels--just thought Verizon had some internal prob going on and would be fixed by the time I got home.

Wrong.

By the time I got home from work, it was too late for a tech to come out. He showed today about 11:20ish and left about 1:15 pm. Replaced my outside unit, plus my battery pack inside--amongst my clutter in that back bedroom. Oh well, it's MY clutter. About 10 mins after he finished--and everything worked- I headed out to meet chums for meeting/lunch. We sat and munced burritos as said storm blew in. Rain pounded the eatery's windows hard enough for the clock on the inside was pushed away from it.

Anyway, all is good. I'm safe. TV works as thunder roars, lightening brightens, plus rain rinses and it's still the weekend. Saturday the calendar says. So let's cue alittle Sir Elton John who tells us what Saturday is allright for:

And so you say...

President Barack Obama had a press conference tonight to answer questions about his first 100 days in office. Only 100 days? He's not made every body happy, yet to me, President Obama (I still like the sound of that)has done more in these few days, than another president in history? He's not Moses. He is a man that puts a new shade on everything. That's a good thing.

The Dallas Mavericks bounce on to the second round of the NBA play-offs. Kind of excited about that. I'm still bitter they was up 3-1 in the finals, a couple years back, and let Shaq and the rest of the Miami Heat take home the trophy. Nice to see Dirk and Co. win. Kinda wish Avery was still coach tho. Gives us something more to watch as we wait for the Cowboys' training camp in July. The longer the Mavs stay in, the short the summer wait.

Matt is gone on American Idol. I'm OK with that.

Rain. Lots of it. I gotta go curl with a cat and get a good night's sleep. Stuff to dream about.

Monday Mud

Soak to the soul rain today. More in the forecast. Lawns needed the drink, so all is OK. Especially because the work day is over, my trash is by the curb, plus Dancing With the Stars to hold my attention.

A couple things. First, the Time Magazine pictures of President Barack Obama, in my opinion, are wonderful! Goosebumps still rise on my arm of the event on November 4, 2008. The man is not Moses. I admire what President Barack Obama attempts to do with the issues of our nation. Issues, by the way, he inherited. These pictures make me smile. I am so grateful I continue to experience this History.

The other thing--to get out of my comfort zone. Pondered it all day. The steps I can make, which includes to register at a rec center where a discount is given to my demographic. Heck, they even offer Tai Chi and ballroom dance lessons to members! How cool would that be? Even AARP gives a discount for car and home insurance for my demographic-so a quote will be asked for---ASAP!

Granted, I've not exactly embraced this 'golden' age as I should. Yet I realize, regardless of age, I chose to be forever golden. So I best get over it. Got things I need to do. Discounts to get. And He didn't bring me this far to leave me.

Then snapped pictures to show off one of my rose bushes. Notice the beauty a little rain and a traipse thru some mud will get ya?

Not bad.

Wednesday...

Rain in Dallas. Temperatures no higher than the 80's today. Off to work....Well, two outta three ain't bad.

I'm blessed to have a job. I realize that. Think more and more of the ministry God has for me--just wish I knew what it was! :) I know I need to make sure the mortgage is paid, the car payment and kitty litter in tow.

Doing more writing of late. Sent a submission to Guideposts, the other day, plus a photo to another magazine. Will be working on another story today at work--

So the VP's are to be announced soon....of course, nobody asked me--so I'll wait patiently to see if John McCain picks a pro-choice Democrat and see if Barack Obama doesNOT pick Hillary Clinton.

Off to work...
