Dallas Maverick Monday

Resided in Kansas City when the Royals won the World Series
Lived in Dallas cheered 3 Cowboy Super Bowls in the '90's
(shoulda been more!)
Plus a Dallas Stars win of the Stanley Cup-
Yet there's something about this:
Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in 6-
For the 2011 NBA Finals Championship
And to think when Dirk came to town, the sportcaster I still like most is like, "Who? What are they thinking...?"
Well, we know what they are thinking NOW:
Dirk is a MVP.
And the Dallas Mavericks TEAM get to bring home their first championship trophy!
How sweet...how sweet it is!

Sunday Six

Tyson Chandler is his name.

He is a member of the NBA Dallas Mavericks. Tonight is Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. Dallas needs just one more win out of these last two games to bring home the Trophy. The game will be played in Miami--yet the Dallas has proved they know how to handle the 'Heat.' The city of Dallas hopes this the Sixth and Final game! ******In the meantime, as I countdown minutes to the game, I think how great it's been to not worry about some school paper due on Monday. I'm on a two week break. I don't want to go back to this particular school either. I need to find another school to transfer to. My education is important to me. What I've run into so far is, I need to enroll and register before the new school will even discuss what classes I have taken will transfer or not. Seems like a waste of my time. One school said it would be at least a year and a half for me to finish. That's a big ol' no from me. Stay tuned.****** I just remember what my Pastor Rickie Rush, of Inspiring Body of Christ Church said last week, "Specialize until your special." That is so good on so many levels. I'll just trek onward. I am being led and for once I'm OK with that.

OK. Back to tonight. 30 minutes until tip-off. Got my Mavs t-shirt on. Blue Bell Homemade Ice Cream in the freezer and a cat who purrs louder than the hum of the a/c. Sounds like the makin' of a NBA Finals Championship game to me!

GO MAVS!

Terra Cotta Three

First off, these are NOT the pots I moaned and groaned about in prior posts.

Nope.

These three pots were made as the Dallas Mavs

went up 3 games to 2 over Miami Heat last night. I made them for three colleagues who left the department today. They like to use highlighters and such. I thought they would a place to put those tools in. In fact, if my now ex-teammates wanted to plant a non-edible plant in it--they could.

Mod Podge'd this paper I liked because they were all stars in my book. One said she felt special, because I even thought to give her something. The rims were their favorite colors a shimmer of glitter on each one. All paint, including the glimmer paint, was Folk Art. The kitty paw prints--well, need a bit more work and more my patience. I used a rubber stamp with a Color Box pigment stamp pad in Frost White. I applied it when the rim paint was dry. Yet I didn't wait long enough for the ink to dry--so it smeared some. The teammates didn't seem to mind.

I still saw work needed to be done, while another teammate asked, "Where's mine?"

This teammate did not like me while we went thru training class a year ago. In fact, I had no qualms if I got her mad enough, my tires would be sliced and diced. That is, if she let me live long enough to get to the car. Since then, we've bonded as much can be. A month or so ago, she saw cat purse at a garage sale and got it for me. Total shock on my part. Everytime I get a compliment on it, I tell her. Rough stones can become precious gems.

I didn't expect anybody else to have interest in the pots. I wasn't that sure the teammates leaving would have any interest. Remember the pot I made for a lady retiring a few weeks ago? It was ugly! I realize I made it for me instead of for her.

These three terra cotta pots showed me not every piece made has to be completely about a cat. I put the paw prints on the the pot so my teammates always remember who gave it to them. The pot itself was the star, not the prints. It was for them.

Lesson learned.

10:30 PM

Sunday about is done. Never to be seen again. Wow, that was deep. My philosophical side.

So much has happened since you and I met up: Change in job tasks to a maybe change in schools. Maybe a chance to really clean my house from to bottom to I think I over fry my hair when I flat iron it--so back to the natural, curly look for a bit.

Then there was Pastor Rickie Rush, of Inspiring Body of Christ Church preached today about the folks in our lives. Like a man, we are so nuts about, yet he ain't nuts about you as he should be. Hey, I've been there and even have the t-shirt. It comes to be able to let them go. The world isn't over. In fact, you could be waving 'good-bye' with your right hand and waving "hello" with your left. I like that. Put some things inperspective.

And my terra cotta potta pots. The journey continues. Just let me say that. I would like to launch one--just ONE pot on June 12th. Why? It's the cat's birthday. The cat's who is the namesake and CEC aka Chief Executive Cat of this enterprise. Stay tuned to all that.

And lastly--as the clock ticks 10:36 PM, the Dallas Mavericks, are now down 2-1 in the NBA playoffs to the Miami Heat. They lost by two points abut an hour ago. I did say the Mavs in 6 games. Mavs lose. Pain don't last always. Next game Tuesday--pain better be over by then!

On that note. I need to put my clean sheets on my bed, just the cats can 're-fur' it and get some shut eye.

Monday will come soon enough.

I am blessed.

And so you say...

President Barack Obama had a press conference tonight to answer questions about his first 100 days in office. Only 100 days? He's not made every body happy, yet to me, President Obama (I still like the sound of that)has done more in these few days, than another president in history? He's not Moses. He is a man that puts a new shade on everything. That's a good thing.

The Dallas Mavericks bounce on to the second round of the NBA play-offs. Kind of excited about that. I'm still bitter they was up 3-1 in the finals, a couple years back, and let Shaq and the rest of the Miami Heat take home the trophy. Nice to see Dirk and Co. win. Kinda wish Avery was still coach tho. Gives us something more to watch as we wait for the Cowboys' training camp in July. The longer the Mavs stay in, the short the summer wait.

Matt is gone on American Idol. I'm OK with that.

Rain. Lots of it. I gotta go curl with a cat and get a good night's sleep. Stuff to dream about.
