Sizzlin' on Sunday

Got me a Strawberry Limeade. Would love chips and queso too. Alas will do with salad.
Woke up this morning and didn't really want to get out of bed. I almost 'called in' church. Yet I got up, ran late and arrived just as the choir began. Turns out the Pastor Rickie Rush, of MY church, Inspiring Body of Christ Church, had a blood transfusion this week. In fact, last Sunday he was spunky, yet not all the way--I wondered if he felt bad. Pastor Rush admitted he was in pain last Sunday and had trouble breathing. He's not told us all what was wrong, yet he was losing blood internally. The doctor told him Tuesday, she couldn't promise him he'd be out of the hospital to get to church on Sunday.

Well, Pastor Rickie Rush was. And so was I.

I'm amazed by my Spiritual Walk, more so I never thought I'd have one. Since I'm surprised, folks who have known me forever must be just as surprised--if not more so. Some of them acknowledge, ask me questions and ask if I'd pray for them. Others don't say a word. And that's OK. All this just helps me learn--and that's a good thing.

Now, it's 4:16 PM Sunday afternoon. 100 degrees F---again. Gotta finish this Strawberry Limeade and do a little house and cat box cleaning--yea, the stuff that makes this Sunday so sizzlin'!

March 11, 2006 was Saturday

This day in 2006, I still remained in the hospital. Had visitors in and out. My open heart surgery was scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday. Looking back, maybe they wanted to get in what they thought might be their last words to me. A friend, later on said, she thought they were going to lose me. Well, I had other plans.

On this particular day, Bear was one of the last visitors. Turns out Bear was kinda ticked at me. Why? Well, because I didn't tell him first thing I was in the hospital. I'd been there a week before I told him. Bear felt because of our past, I would have told him. Well, in my opinion, because of our past is why I didn't tell him. At that moment in time, Bear and I had little to do with each other, for weeks and months. Why would I want to share anything with him? Yet, I knew it was the right thing to do. I knew Bear would pray for me, and I needed all the prayers I could get!

I recall, I sat in a chair, donned in my faded hospital gown while Bear sat across from me. We've never spoken of what he thought that day. Looking back, I do believe Bear was scared. Except for the gown and being in a hospital and getting my BP checked about every hour, I was still me. Bear had a hard time with my illness--as time wore on, to a degree, I think he still does. You see, his dad passed away of heart issues at a young 58. There are times I wonder if Bear sees his Dad in me--which is only something Bear can answer. I've tried to reassure him of my health...

Fast forward to this day in 2010. Another gorgeous almost Spring Day. Received some good words from my classmates in this online class I'm in. That made me feel good. Gotta get my trash to the curb, chow on some salad, pet a cat and settle down to my Thursday TV watching--this is a night for me.

I am blessed.

Moment Monday

On Dancing With The Stars, I don't want Donny to go tomorrow. I'd be real OK if it were Joanna or Kelly. Mya is the best dancer---yet the Titanic would sink cuz of her. Elegant, yet an ice berg. Not feelin' love from her.

I'm tired. It's chilly. I may finally crack on my furnace. Cats make good heaters, plus they purr.

Yep, I am tired. Don't feel much like ramblin.

Hey,there is always tomorrow.

Say your prayers--He always listens.

Just To Wrap Up

Yesterday the Dallas Cowboys' training facility collapsed. Today a house just two streets over from mine, exploded. One of the four folks that lived there, was home alone. He's now in the hospital with second degree burns. Then one of my very small back yard trees is falling over. The recent wind gusts have been too much for it. I wonder how old it is. If I had a saw I could saw it down myself--but my luck I'd saw off a limb. Say prayers for the Cowboys injured and the man in the hospital. Stay tuned.

Wonderful sermon today on how to wait on God preached by Pastor Rickie Rush at the Inspiring Body of Christ Church. So many tips were given, yet my favorites were: remain active, be patience and expectancy. Build your trust in God. Look at the folks in your life who love you. Do they drain you? Are you able to look beyond that? Also look at the decisions you tried to make--did they delay God's blessings? For me, man oh man, I didn't trust God and fell flat on my face--ALOT. I tried to make decisions and not let Him. No matter how long it takes, trust Him. It's His time, not yours. GREAT sermon.

Dallas Mavericks lost. Cats fed. Birds fed. Squirrels too. Got Blue Bell ice cream. Dreams to ponder. Things to do. Just to wrap up.

Thoughts of Past Loves
