Yep.

It's Friday and I am SO glad. Will be another scorcher in Dallas tomorrow--over 100 degrees. I do have some errands to do and those will be done in the morning time. My splurge after errands will be "Toy Story." And this paper I gotta tweak--like I said, "Toy Story."

Honestly, I hadn't planned to see "Toy Story." Just didn't think I'd like it. Maybe run out of steam, since it is the third one. Yet its reviews have been great--so why not? Plus, I always love me some Tom Hanks. See, Tom's a guy I would date. I'd make him a pie everyday if he wanted one. Even a pie I didn't like--yep. for Tom. :)

Did I tell you I went back to the rec center? I'm pretty much the youngest one there. You must be a 'golden age' to even join. I'm taking it easy and get my body to work again. I can feel a difference when I walk. Tonight, heck--I forwent the pizza I craved--even the ice cream, and chowed salad and an orange. Maybe I'm back into something good to infinity and beyond.....?

Yep.

Another Day

That's what today is. However it's a Tuesday and I'm taking a one night breather from school. I am gonna jump on next week's assignments tomorrow--the writing part, mainly. I plan to read some stuff tonight. I printed it off so not to be glued to the PC. I am just too old school to read more than a few paragraphs on the PC. Give me a handful of book or papers and I am set.

I'm in a TV and movie kinda mode. Does anybody watch "True Blood" on HBO? Am I missing something? I don't have HBO, for one--however I know the DVD's are available. Then "Toy Story" comes out this week. At first, I wasn't gonna both--then I heard the voice of Tom Hanks just one too many times---so...could be my treat for the weekend.

And gave a thought to past relationships. How in a way I miss the relationship and not quite the person. Is that wrong? I ponder about a man who still lives in Chicago--the only man I was ever with and looked at a "BRIDES" magazine. I just knew! He adored me. I wish that could have been enough. Was I too much for him? Probably. I realize as I've aged, I was pretty much too much for most men. They said I expected too much from them.

Really?

At the time, I didn't realize they didn't expect much of themselves.

Blue Bell Vanilla Cookies n Cream Ice Cream awaits.

Do you Twitter? I tried. I don't care for it much. Granted, by the time I signed for the first time, I had two blogs and realized I had a strong pulse on Facebook. A chum of mine is addicted to Twitter, as I am to Facebook and my blogs. If you're familiar with Twitter, folks follow you and you follows folks. My chum has over 800 worldwide folks following her.

Me? 38.

My chum loves to read Tweets and respond in kind. Me? I got bored. I didn't want to read everybody's Tweets in 140 characters or less, when meant I maybe read lots to get the point. Yea, it's fun to try to edit t0 140 characters, yet I grew weary. Then I started school--something had to give.

So Twitter Twunked out. I go there ever know and then-like every couple weeks or so. I follow William Shatner, Donny Osmond, Aaron McCargo and even Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Terrell Owens. I rarly read past the first page of Tweets. My chums knows all bout Twitter, I don't.

And I'm OK with that. She suggests I follow the Tweets of authors I like, well I do that on Facebook--even intermingle with some. I could read tweets about writing hints---well, why would I do that if I just read stuff about writing and NOT write?

Oh well. Maybe one moment I'll get on the Twitter Twagon.

This isn't that moment. Right now, I'm twired and this cat awaits.
Stay tuned.

Talk Tuesday

As I chatted with co-worker. SJ, who forever reminds me she's from KEEN-ya and says I need to learn more about my ancestry--and she's right, of course--I'm envious because English is SJ's third language, out of fourth--I digress--the point of this story, is I tease SJ how she throws intimidating looks--well, her eyes got big and goes, "HA! You've been intimidating people at the work place since you BORN! I told her that just wasn't so--heck, I didn't have a job when I was born.... :) Oh, and SJ wants to braid my hair. She wonders how I don't really like braids so much, especially that when she grew up in Kenya, she and her friends weren't allowed to braid or relax their hair. So when they got old enough, they lavished doing things to hair and that includes a love for braids. A love I don't share. SJ has actually shown me African braid styles...but me...intimidating...? HA!

Then in Wal-mart, in the pet section--of course, a young man seemed confused as he looked over the cat food. So what do I do? I strike up a chat--and for about 15 minutes, I educated him about cats and better food--no ground corn in the 1st three ingredients, litter, getting his two 7 month old Maine Coons spay and he was quite the alert student. The chorus of "Thank You's" was great. It was nice to chat about something I know.

And I heart cats, but you already knew that!

Oh, and I started my second college online class today. Oh my. This instructor is really into papers. And yes, I love to write--and I think I'm pretty good at writing..well, as long as it's fiction. I love a good challenge. I just wish a melt in your mouth Morris Chesnutt or cuddly Tom Hanks was my prize.

Stay tuned.

Thursday Tender

OK. Went to my new home away from home: the Senior Rec Center. As I walked in I realized I read the door wrong yesterday. Indeed, the center was indeed closed yesterday when I showed up around 5:30. It closed at 5pm. So it was open, yet I was too late. Noted.

Anyway, I biked, tread and read "Angels and Demons." Sure it opens tomorrow with Tom Hanks, who doesn't know he loves me. Loved Tom since I first laughed at him in "Bosom Buddies"--I digress. I'd like to finish the book before I see the movie--but, ya know, may not happen--the thought is there.

After I biked, tread and read my feet let me know I needed new tenny shoes. Not too much cushion. Couldn't quite remember what year I bought these tennyshoes, so it's time. Can't let shoes keep me for doing some good for myself....like I had been. :)

And it's almost time for the weekend. My feet can handle that! While we wait for the Friday, I'll cue up my all time favorite rock band: 3 Dog Night. My heart is all over Cory Wells and his version of Try A Little Tenderness. I'm sure Otis Redding smiles up there in Heaven when he hears Cory do his thing.

I know I do. Sore tootsies and all. Need me some Tenderness. Sing it Mister Wells!

Sun Short

Stepped on the scale today. It screamed so loud, was afraid the neighbors would hear. Gotta change all that. More exercise is needed and less food--well, BETTER food. Stay tuned for an update.

Today is the day the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad in it! Great service today at Inspiring Body of Christ Church with Pastor Rickie Rush-from the books of Hosea and Luke. Hit a home run---again. I've said before how Pastor Rush has been an acquired taste. for me over the years. Gives pause to ponder. Maybe we both had to grow...
And to quote Forrest Gump on this Sunday: That's all I got to say about that.

Enjoy this day.

I am blessed.

Tweak

Mentioned on Twitter. So therefore I tweet. Yet, still don't get the jest, so I feel like twit.

Thought I was up so uptown when I began a blog. Turns out, I was already behind the times. On Facebook for MONTHS, before I started to do anything there. Had to reset my password I don't know how many times. Still don't mess with all the little requests and such they have--except to play Word Twist and Scrabble with Movie Man. I do like the past and present c0ntacts made. Then after all that--comes Twitter.

I follow Oprah and Tom Hanks' tweets. Still try to figure out if can only leave them direct messages if they follow me too. Well, that ain't gonna happen any time soon. Oh, did I mention I follow Donny Osmond too?

Donny and I still need to sit down, chow and chat. See, I need to remind him how a bunch of us crammed in the service elevator space of the 30th Floor in the Las Vegas Hilton. We hoped to sneak a peek of our fave, since this was right outside the Osmonds' suite. And then Donny can explain how once in Provo, Utah, as a Baskin Robbins stood right next door while he informed us of his love for pralines and cream ice cream-that he never treated?

Now headed back to Twitter to tweet. Can't wait until I quit feeling like a twit. Gotta savor Blue Bell Cookies n Cream ice cream while a cat fights me for it. In the meantime let's showcase a Saturday song: Havin A Party, by those Osmonds....and check out the choreography!

And The Oscar Goes To...

Mickey Rourke. That's who I want Oscar to go home with. What a full circle that would be.

I'm an Oscar Watcher. Not always being so much into the winners --think "The English Patient" and "Shakespeare in Love"--also even tho I'm a Tom Hanks Honey, "Forrest Gump" should have run, Forrest, run to the folks of "Shawshank Redemption" and give em his Oscar. Yet, I start out with the show and I all ready know I'll be ask "Why isn't Billy Crystal or even Jon Stewart or even Chris Rock or even Whoopi the host tonight?" No offense to Hugh Jackman. He may be quite good. I hope so. Because three hours of just looking at his looks will grow stale.

Back to Mickey. Yep, I'd like to see him win. Thought he was hot back in the 80's. Then, well--he went kinda nuts. I realize Sean Penn may take Oscar for 'Milk"--however, a girl can always wish for the envelope to say something in her favor.

Marisa Tomei in 1993, anyone? I, too, always wondered if Jack Palance got it wrong. Yet, "The Wrestler" is a turnpike away from "Cousin Vinny" II'd feel certain if Marisa wins---Marisa wins.

Get the popcorn ready.

I'm in your corner Mickey.

Tuesday Starts

And ya know, I'd be there. Even after a job interview, earlier today. Went well, yet confirmed I desire my own business. Plus have my words performed--are you out there Tom Hanks, Spike Lee, Queen Latifah or even the neighborhood community playhouse director?? Dreams are BIG. Which brings me tonight.

What gets revved up again tonight, for all those with their OWN big dreams?
And we watch and wonder if the main folks on the show, duke each other out?
The reason my bedroom brown eyes will be glued to the TV every Tuesday and Wednesday, until--oh, May?

Need I say more?
Nope.
Let's get this up and going !
Pass that Blue Bell Chocolate Covered Strawberry ice cream this way.
Because THIS is American Idol!

Well--maybe one more Tuesday Thought...

OK--I had to make a quick mention when I realized Donny and Marie Osmond open their Vegas gig tonight---a Tuesday night at that. My chums who read this blog just chuckled, rolled their eyes and said, 'Yep, I knew it--Donny Osmond--again!"
Yes, there are 'grown up' things on everyone's mind. Our troops, so faraway from home. This history making election--if strategies will back fire. Sure, I wish Tom Hanks would call and say, "I like that story--lets get a movie deal together and make us some magic." I do agree only if Whoopi stars. So, yea, I got all this 'grown up' AARP stuff in my head---but....
Then there's the whole Osmond thing. What can I say? Good memories. Good times. No apologies. This picture was taken in Des Moines, about forever ago. My glasses could be mistaken for blue stop signs. The day this pic was snapped was a good day. Donny and family were pretty much in my own back yard. Meeting him- again, made up for our yuck concert seats that night. But ya know, I bet those concert tickets were probably at best, 10 bucks.
In Las Vegas, on this Tuesday night, I bet there a bit more than $10.
So I do need Tom Hanks to pay me movie rights for a movie that will win us the Oscar. Then I won't care about the cost of concert tickets or the fanciest cat food on the market.
Oh, and did I mention that Donny was not originally my favorite Osmond?
Stay tuned.

Guilty Pleasures......

The Next New Food Network Star----Aaron McCargo Jr---is still my favorite entree!

Bag filled with strawberry mini fig newtons---130 calories. Just enough taste. Love em.

Watching VH1 Classics. Remembering how it USE to be.

Blue Bell (the best ice cream in the country--OK--maybe Texas) fave flavor Chocolate Covered Strawberry---I'd forget about Terrance Howard for a half gallon of this creamy taste of heaven.

Onion rings.

Mint Mocha Chip Frappucino (Light)

Watching "You've Got Mail" for the zillionth time and wishing Tom Hanks answered my mail.

Purr of a content cat.

Watching the Young and the Restless. Trying to remember if Victor got snipped years ago, because his soon to be bride is pregnant. Discussing all the happenings in Genoa City with the work chums.

Listening to my favorite Barry Manilow songs....cue "All the Time"

.....did I mention Blue Bell Ice cream....?
