A work chum asked me why I did not invite her to the book signing last night. Told her didn't she was interested (most of my chums aren't) and I didn't have her number. Work chum asks, "You don't have my number?" Then starts to fuss, in playing sorta way, I didn't invite her and asked a bunch of questions about the author (that she didn't recognize) and the signing (how many people were there?). All in all she says, "Oh, well, I was at choir practice anyway." Yea, and that's why I don't invite many folks to what I do.
As I gathered my keys and purple sunglasses, other co-workers asked "Are you leaving?" I stayed an extra hour, and plan to go in early tomorrow. Stuff I need to do in my other life away from work and besides Vampire Bill awaits for me in True Blood.
The co-worker chums kept working. "You have time to do things away from here? You have a life?"
Why yes...yes, I do.
Stay tuned.
