Sunday So Good

I tell ya what, I'm still tired from the writers' conference yesterday. Goes to show me, I am so outta shape. There was a time I exercised at least 5 days out of the week. I was healthier and leaner because of it. Such one more of the things on my mind. My terra cotta pots--all 20 of them have new homes. I still can't believe that. Boosted my confidence about 10 fold. ***Today. I got my church on. Needed THAT bad. Pastor Rush of Inspiring Body of Church brought it. He's been preachin' about passion and living courageously as a Christian--not religiously, yet as a Christian. Spiritually. All good. Hittin' right where I need. Before church started, someone tapped on my shoulder. This man calls me by name. His name escaped me, eventho the face was familiar. He told me "Mike" and we'd sat by each other. I remembered. It was a few weeks ago, and I recall we had a couple laughs. Nice.

There' still some Sunday left. I'm headed to the couch with cat close behind. The TV remote and I are pretty much gonna become one tonight.

Yep. Good all the way 'round.

Terra Cotta Tune Up

I volunteer for a chum's writers' conference and we had our last meeting before the conference (which is the 13th). I'd made mention to my chum how I do pots and would she be interested to use them in some kind of way. She liked the idea and said she would send me her favorite quote. We would just go from there...

Above is the before and after terra cotta pot. I do usually treat the inside of my pots with Thompson's Sealant. This time tho, since the pot was just for demonstration, I didn't. What I did use:

4 inch terra cotta pot
White Tissue Paper (99 cents from Dollar General) for quote
Folk Art Perfect Purple Acrylic Paint
Folk Art Wicker White Acrylic Paint
Delta Ceramcoat Sparkle Glaze
Mod Podge SPARKLE (I am LOVIN' this stuff! Me. Glue. Who knew?)

My chum liked the pot so much, she wants 20 of them--in different colors! She asked, "Can you do 20 by next week?" Of course, I can I told her, wondering all the while how I would stagger the entire process. By next Saturday, I will have 20 pots, in four different colors.

Can't wait to see how the pots turn out...
God IS so good.
Stay tuned.

Sunday...Already?

Man on man, where did the time go? It's Sunday and of course I have some paper to write for school. Let's see, it is: "Hypothectical Working Agreement"...sure.

Let's talk about something FUN! Got my praise on at MY church, Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush today. The tricks Satan uses on us to rob our faith. Powerful stuff. All these messages have hit me right where I live. The blessings are there. Satan knows that. He's tried ways upon ways to steal my thunder. At times I've let him. ...Yet all is good. Just keep my eye on the prize. And I look unto the hills where my help comes from.

Now get this, yesterday I chatted with a minister I'd befriended a few years ago. The Minister attended the writers' conference I volunteered with yesterday. Also, back when I was in ICU with my little open heart adventure, she came to visit me. Yesterday, was the first time we'd seen each other in all these months since I'd left my/her original home church. The thing was she called me "Shade Tree Preacher." Huh? Long story short, Minister said she's always seen a light in me and said people come to me because of what I say and do. I just looked at her. Me? She went on to say Shade Tree is a person who does the work, but doesn't have the sign out front sayin' so. I still just looked at her. Minister said alot of stuff I still must ponder. Oh how my life has so changed. Maybe I'll share more one of these posts...

Can't believe it's SUNDAY. Did I tell y'all I did see "Toy Story" last week? LOVED it and got quite weepy at the end.

Oh, the writers' conference yesterday was GREAT! Met some nice folks. Badgered by one of them with WHERE was my next book? OK, she was an author who spoke and happens to be a chum of mine. Learned lots and enjoyed being around other writer people. Once I got home tho, I enjoyed being on my bed, under the ceiling the fan, with a cat to pet and remote in hand...
On that note--I'm outta here. Still some Sunday left to enjoy with a little Blue Bell Banana Pudding Ice Cream on the side....!

Just a bit

Wanted to check in. Work has been interesting as we head into our first Month End that matters as we strive to make bonu$. My boss, who is nice eye candy, and I still don't much eye to eye. We tease and such, yet outside of that--I can't just get behind a guy who says, "We have to crawl" to get to the next step of our jobs. There's no "Let's fly! Let's see how high we can go. or even take a bigger step' Nope--it's "crawl"---and I asked him the other day if he thought he was a motivator. He said he was. My guess is if you're about 22. I'm just learning to remain quiet.

Anyway, there's--the writers' conference I volunteer for is this Saturday. Plus, I got great news, I'm eligible for a $1000 grant for school. And the all 70's Reunion for my high school is over the 4th of July. How long have I known about this? Since before school and work became major factors. I don't want to spend the money to go--even tho it would be a blast--and I don't want to drive 750 miles, unless a cheap air fare comes into play. Yea, it would be fun. Lots of fun. I don't want to spend the dough. So stay tuned.

I've thought about men who came in and out of my life. I'd like to get married--no, I'd like to have fun date with a man who actually does OK with cats--I need to find a vet to date! :)

Stay tuned.
