Saturday Stuff

While I got up early this morning, to head to my 8 am class on a Saturday, these two boycats did what I wanted to do...stay IN bed! I made it class. Was bit late, because I found the building, yet not the room as quickly as I wanted. The class itself, will be great--it's over The Old Testament. Since I'm now a student at faith based university, I am required a class on the Old and New Testament. The instructor was fun. The class, about 10 of us, were in every demographic. And the biggest surprise of all--the class is listed to last from 8am to 3pm. It didn't--at least today it didn't. We got out at 11 am--which was great! Also this class meets every other Saturday. I've not had a class like this--so stay tuned.

With the surprise of getting done with class at 11am, I had more time for errands and grabbed me some lunch. Once I got home, I did some homework. I told myself I can't let the homework get so ahead of me....And now?

Well, it's only 7 PM, yet I am done for the day. Tired. Yet fulfilled. I hope these boycats left some room on MY bed.

Tired

First, about the college exam I discussed last night--well, I never heard back from the teacher. And today I started a brand new class--so whatever happens is gonna happen. If I had read ALL the material, as I should have, there wouldn't have such a great need for me to do 'open book' then I wouldn't have opened another browser and accidently logged out the browser where I took the test. One chance for the test--that was it. .

Oh well.

In this new class, I have a 1000 word paper due by Sunday. We must attach the article we used to gain most of our info, plus run the paper thru the plagiarism checker and paint the sky blue by daybreak. Well, not the last part--but still. 1000 words by Sunday over--let's see--exploring the purpose of human services and include how Ginger on Gilligan's Islands only seemed to have evening gowns--well, maybe not that last part but still--doing this non-fiction writing has made more determined to write FUN fiction writing, because--well, because I CAN!

I am beat. Reading the new class' syllabus overwhelmed me. Yet, I will succeed. In the meantime, I'm gonna plop on the couch, take the remote away from this cat, and savor the night which a bowl of Blue Bell Rocky Road Ice Cream...

Friday Feel Good

During last week's road trip with Movie Man, he popped in a CD that after about every song I announced: 'I had that on a 45!"
He laughed. Because about the only thing Movie Man knew with that number in it was Colt 45.
I digress.
So on this Friday, after a work week was complete--yes, I'm blessed to have a job--yet even in these hard times, I STILL believe in miracles for better--I recalled the Fridays my chums would converge at my house.
On 7th Street. We were in high school.
Vinyl albums and 45's stacked high to wait their turn.
One song really ticked off my step-mother.
Pretty sure she felt we were all devil's spawn when I played it.
Didn't stop it from being on the turntable tho!
I smile now, when one particular word is uttered--
Cue Hall and Oates; "Rich Girl" and toast those teenage years when all was worried about was who completed their geometry homework so you could copy it!

Thoughts of Past Loves

The Holidays are pretty much right here. Yep.  Especially since three Christmas movies, in the last three days, between Lifetime and Ha...
