26 Then and Again

Did I tell you about the time in the long ago day, I sat with two men as we listened to some music? Music that still burst from vinyl? Oh, I pobably have, yet I'll tell you again how on this particular day, one of the men wanted to dedicate a song to me.

Why? Because I was a 26, he said. I blushed and did that silly girly girl giggle we females have been known to do. Me? A 26? WOW!

There was a problem. Yes, indeed. The man doing the dedication was not my boyfriend. Yep. My boyfriend stared at the dedication do-er, who happened to be his best friend. The boyfriend's jaw crashed thru the floor as he looked from his best friend to me and back to this best friend.

My boyfriend wondered---out loud--how his best friend knew I was a 26?

Tuesday Orange

The Orange Bowl 2010 is at Halftime. My Iowa Hawkeyes lead Georgia Tech 14-7. Kool and the Gang now entertain.

Yea. I danced and partied to 'Celebration' I don't how many times. Good times. Even bought some Kool and the Gang vinyl. Nice memories. Was "Celebration" really out in 1981-ish?

Time flies is also what I think when I watch the Jacksons Dynasty reality show on A & E. Have you watched it? I've missed an episode or two. Yet, I've seen enough to have opinions. I do like Tito. Marlon has sexy smile. Jackie is the gentle soul I always thought, while Jermaine is a whiny wuss. To watch this show is bittersweet. They miss their brother. I feel that is genuine. I also wonder if this is really suppose to be "The Jermaine Show."

OK. Kool and the Gang are sing "Celebration" now--I'll go back and rewind. Gotta watch and remember. After that- headed to the warmth of my bed and under the covers.

Kind of a chill here in Texas. One of the moments I wish I had a man 24/7.

Friday Feel Good

During last week's road trip with Movie Man, he popped in a CD that after about every song I announced: 'I had that on a 45!"
He laughed. Because about the only thing Movie Man knew with that number in it was Colt 45.
I digress.
So on this Friday, after a work week was complete--yes, I'm blessed to have a job--yet even in these hard times, I STILL believe in miracles for better--I recalled the Fridays my chums would converge at my house.
On 7th Street. We were in high school.
Vinyl albums and 45's stacked high to wait their turn.
One song really ticked off my step-mother.
Pretty sure she felt we were all devil's spawn when I played it.
Didn't stop it from being on the turntable tho!
I smile now, when one particular word is uttered--
Cue Hall and Oates; "Rich Girl" and toast those teenage years when all was worried about was who completed their geometry homework so you could copy it!
