Just Had To...

Think about stuff going on. Gave thought to getting rid of this house --again--
And I keep thinking what is it I really need to make this house
Really a piece of mind for me?
Well, I'll keep you posted.
Well, something I just had to do tonight
Was to go get a burger at the best burger place in Dallas: Burger Island! Yes, and onion rings too. I felt in the mood. After the day at work today, plus another hot day, and the play I need to finish tweaking by September 1.
I wanted a burger. If you ever had a Burger Island burger, you know what heaven tastes like. I had a hickory cheeseburger, which was a big as a frisbee. As I sat on my couch (got burger to go) my
female cat--I call Mommy Girl: , because--she was Mommy when she was still just a little girl cat--decided to snatch a piece of the burger bun as it feel apart.
I was not amused. Mommy Girl's tummy was tho.
So to wrap this up-
I just had to do what I wanted.
And trust me, Burger Island is one of the BEST places to do it in!

Sunday Short

Got my praise on today, at Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush. The message was how we know we are in our due time. And of course, one way especially hit me right upside my head. Oprah would call it an 'a-ha' moment. It is: When we don't push, pull or politic, the doors open.
I did these things-.ALOT with my relationships with me. Ask Bear. Yet, I didn't realize how much I did it until time had passed. and the relationship had long ceased. Sure, I wanted and needed a strong man. And these men were strong, in their own, and I did indeed want them. Alas, they weren't the men I needed. So, I'd push, pull and politic--and pout. :) Never could figure out why things didn't quite work out how I desired. Want and need are two so very different things. Live and learn.

OK--as for the doors open, I'm still in awe of the Iowa Hawkeyes 4th and goal with :02 left in the game win last night over Michigan State. The Hawks are 8-0. First time ever! They find a way to win-no push, pull or politic or blocked punt...the doors are open. Love it and GO HAWKS!

Now, I gotta plop in the front of the TV for some Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons tussle on the gridiron. Splurged today, and forgo the salad thru the game. Yep--I decided to bring on home the best burger from THE best burger place in Dallas: Burger Island. And yes, I'll still get down my 74 ounces of water.

In the meantime, football awaits as He still gets my praise.

I am blessed.

A Day

one day closer to Movie Man leaving me. Not in a bad way. In a good way...for him. Movie Man had a good interview today. Proud of him. Know he sparkled. Happy for him, kinda yuck for me It's that whole patience thing I have to remember. It's all in His time. Not mine. That really is the kicker. I am better than I was in the past. Some folks, who read this blog may disagree. :)

Oh well.

On the bright side. I headed for my Poke today. That's what I call my Coumadin check-due to having the mechanical mitral valve in my heart. I tick. Did you know? When it's real quiet, you can hear me. Anyhoo, the Coumadin check is to see if my blood is too thick or too thin. Vitamin K affects Coumadin aka green stuff like broccoli or spinach. Today I was right in the middle of my range. 3.0. So I don't have to go back for another month. Glad. Through this whole ordeal, I've not had one major setback. Very Glad.

And since we're in February, it's when I start to reflect how my life changed in February 2006, February 27 to be exact. The day paramedics carted me to the ER. I spent all day and all night, and nobody knew where I was. Left the hospital on March 24, 2006--scar and all. Movie Man picked me up. Took me to Wal-mart so I could buy groceries. I drove that little cart and ran over everybody. I digress, plus I was scared to even THINK about spinach or broccoli, cause the nutritionist told me 'avoid it at all costs' because of the Coumadin. I didn't buy any that day.

Took me six months to finally get OVER that. Brings me today. I'm consistent in my Vitamin K eating. Don't think twice. Your body needs em. Just need to be consistent. Today, I'm in my range. Feel good. Cardiologist says, my valve works great, my heart itself works great, and she knows all is well with me. Even tho Movie Man might leave me, that's OK--it's time for him to move on. He'll just owe me a burger at the best burger place in Dallas: Burger Island! :)

On this day I'm very, very glad.

It's Friday...

And I gotta get my walk in by nightfall. Was gonna ask Movie Man to do a burger with me at the best burger place in Dallas: Burger Island-HOWEVER--that would mean no walk, plus a sway from my diet. Trying to stay focused. Another time--soon.

So as the Weekend circles us and I get my tennis shoes ready for the jaunt on pavement, how about a little 60's song?
Cue Nancy Sinatra for a little walkin' with some boots!

4-0...

Not so much. Two points. Not the best game. The sun will shine again.

I make some pretty strong iced coffee. Gotta get me some decaf. Tasty treat though.

Strolled around my neighborhood. Sat on a bench at my half way point. Watched cars zip by. Stared at the best burger place in Dallas: Burger Island-which was across the street. Wished ttoday the Boyz tasted victory as good as Burger Island's onion rings. Oh well. My enthusiasm for this season has not dimmed. Go COWBOYS!

On the walk back home, checked out others' landscapes. My lawn needs blasts of color. Some stone too. Also a campaign sign. All in all felt good to walk.

Felt good to just be.

I am blessed.
