Good Day

I love having days off. Got a few things done, yet lounged most of it. Oh, I did splurge and buy a new mop. Yea, such fun buying those grown up things. So much easier when the folks did all that stuff . Clean house was taken for granted. As a grown up, I think of so many other things to do than clean a house....

Made my tummy happy.

Day Off

Yes, I had today off. Had a million things planned: clean the kitchen, get stuff ready for the trash, work on my pots and some homework*****What I wound up doing was sweep the room that has the wood flooring, and picked up some stuff, tried to bond with a not so small kitten anymore, who lives some time in my shed. OK, I feed the wildlife, from possums (not intentionally) to squirrels (intentionally), yet this not so small kitten has shown up about about every day since July.*****I've seen him at another house a half block away. Yet, my shed and my backyard seem to be haven for him. Today I cornered him in a shed corner, on one of the shelves. After a mighty "I'm a tiger" hiss, I pet and talked to him. He let me, yet wasn't really feelin' it. I didn't try to pick him up. I do treasure my face. :)*****So a couple more times of pet and my coo time, he found some space between the wall and the shelf and scampered away. I'm sure into the wisteria bush, where a t-rex could hide quite well. I saw him later as he stalked the birds. The birds won. I left the not so small kitten be. I figure in time we might bond more...*****That was pretty much my day off, well, I did watch some TV, dreamt of ripping up my carpet, and thought how much I don't like the new Facebook...*****On top of that, I am real glad I have Friday off too......wait, isn't The Lion King released tomorrow? And, uh...the not so small kitten and I will have another go round, I'm sure! Stay tuned.

A New Day

...and a day off! That's what Tuesday was--
Plus, my first session for one of my classes at my new school--
I've not been physically in a classroom since the late 90's
A whole 'nother mindset, on top of now being part of
A Christian-centered learning environment.
New, yet I like it!
For the class tonight, I will need to write
About a 7 page autobiography.
Hmm. Definitely the Reader's Digest Condensed Version!
Anyway, all good-
Tomorrow I gotta head back to work.

Ultimately

Well, still no Dancing With the Stars Result Show tonight....bah.

On my day off (and I have another tomorrow), my mission was to locate Giovanni, a particular brand of shampoo and conditioner. I read Target sold it. Alas, the Tarjay less that five minutes from my cluttered home didn't have it. So I stopped at a drug store a block two away, where their website has Giovanni products listed-----well, not at this store. So I sucked it all up to journey, in mist and fog, to another side of Dallas to Ulta. Ever been to one?

I hadn't in a couple years. Ulta has designer brand hair products, fragrances, plus stuff you could buy at Target, like Clairol and the like. There were top of the line flat irons for a hundred bucks---on sale. All the staff, seemed majority born in the late 80's, were decked out in black. Nobody bothered me to ask if they could help except the young lady who asked if she could do something with my eyebrows. She even said my face told her that would be a "No".

More amazed I was, the clientele was in my demographic, even older. Ulta had mineral make up I wanted to inspect, I was in there for a Giovanni shampoo and conditioner and that was all. Which to my joy was buy one and get the second at 50%.

Ulta is pretty cool store, yet I think it takes its poshness a little too serious. And I felt a bit out of place in my jeans and Tweety Bird sweat shirt. Well, maybe not too outta place. I did sign up for an Ulta card where I can earn points with purchases afterall.

No Dancing With the Stars. Got the trash out by the curb. I'll pet a cat and settle in to watch today's episode of the Young and Restless.

I can clean tomorrow...maybe...I got the day OFF.

Day Off

...and the only thing I've done that I said I planned to do-was take a walk. Instead of a jaunt to the rec ctr, where I could bike and stroll in air conditioned comfort, I headed to the park up the street. Was concerned about the heat, yet not alot of humidity. Since the open heart surgery, I've done my best to stay within the guidelines set for outside activity. The nice breeze helped during the walk. Just peaceful.

Once again, it proved how I like being home. To do what I want to, while others are at work. Granted, I don't want to be sick again to have that feeling. Just nice.

Later on, I do need to go get POKED. Yea, that's what I call my blood check for my coumadin. I'm such a poster child for this stuff, which was peddled as rat poison. Fortunate no real issues. Except I know when I am tired--I am tired, so I stop until another time. Just live.

Now since I have some time until the POKE test, I'll wash my dishes. Oh heck, who am I kidding? Gotta watch today's episode of Young and the the Restless-getting GOOD! Adam needs to fall down his own flight of stairs!

Monday Me

Took the day off. Slept in. Had the whole neighborhood of cats circle me like fur covered wagon trains, on my bed. Did my errands. And found out I hadn't lost my touch.

As I drove, I munched on a Taco Bell Supreme Burrito. I didn't realize a big Ford pick up drove by until, as it passed, a young man rolled down the window and blew a kiss. I just smiled. I think the bite of the burrito is what made his and his buddies' day. I was behind them for a second, and all were turned to watch as I bit more into the burrito. I'm sure Taco Bell wasn't looking for such advertising.

Anyway, the day isn't over. Sun is still out. Gotta put the trash by the curb and Dancing With the Stars is on later. I hope Holly Madison is one of the two that goes tomorrow!

In the meantime.....got more to enjoy.
