I'm blessed to have a job. I keep telling myself that.
OJ sentenced. What year IS this? Oh wait--it's not for murder? But for kidnapping, guns etc? The Juice tried to squeeze out of trouble just one too many times. I feel for his and Nicole's kids. Wonder how much $ was spent for their therapy as OJ hunted for the real killers on the golf courses.
Funny chat with a co-worker during lunch. Turns out, we'd both had an association with the same guy we met online. Said he was a pilot and was to appear in Ebony in an article about professional men. She was shocked I'd actually met the guy. He took me to lunch at Tony Roma's--and he DID pay. However she wasn't surprised how he tried to con $ out of me. He needed $4000 for some reason and how he was going to lose his job flying. Need I say he yelled at me for not seeming to like him and how I didn't even sound like a black girl? This was during a phone call, while he was supposedly resting between flights. Yea, whatever dude. So when he asked, "Don't you have a credit card?" And I respond, "What makes you think I'll give it to you?" Gee. Wouldn't ya know the guy hung up on me? Didn't hear from again. Tsk.
Economy still reeks. All must be patient with our new President Elect. To me, it seems, he's done more before he actually takes resident in the White House, than the lame duck President has done in months.
Might freeze tonight in Dallas. S'ok. Gas bill is paid. Got blankets. Got cats that turn into bricks with fur and purr. They'll be needed as I savor some ice cream while I get caught up with Young and the Restless, Grey's Anatomy and do I dare admit: 1948's On the Town, my all time favorite musical--with a young Frank Sinatra and tappin' Gene Kelly?
In fact, let's cue the boys as they sing "New York, New York"--not THAT one, but this one--the opening song in On the Town! It's a fun and besides, it IS the weekend!

Monday Moment

Took a break from the book I'm reading for the Book Club I host Saturday. Yea, knew about it since before Christmas--and just now reading it. Lots of description of the character and the town's surroundings. Eager to find out how it ends. Just hope I don't find out how it ends about five minutes before I head to the Book Club Chat Saturday. The book? "The Hand I Fan With' by Tina Mcelroy Ansa.
So no more Leno after May 2009. He's been an aquired taste for me--yet I enjoy when he talks to people in the "Jay Walking" segment. I didn't give him much hope taking over for Johnny. He proved me wrong. And besides, he's got a cat.
"Dark Knight" made over $155 million dollars its opening weekend. The curiousity of Heath Ledger--I'll be honest, got me in the seat, quicker than I may have gone. I'm so glad the movie surpassed my expectiations. Heath was so into The Joker. This was THE breakout role for him. Sad.
Grey's Anatomy: More so the character Lizzie or more so the actress Katherin Heigl. She's attractive and talented, yet Lizzie is my next to last favorite character on Grey's. The character of Meredith Grey being my least favorite. As for the actress, Ms. Heigl, herself, I missed the memo on what makes her so special...Sorry.
And yes, I saw "Knocked Up." Gotta tell ya, James Pickens Jr has my heart--all of it--on that show!
Better get back to the book. Wait--chips, salsa and purring cat need to happen first.
Stay tuned.

When I'm Wrong....I'm wrong & Admit it....
Looks like I owe two co-workers M & M (plain) come Tuesday.
I was 100% so sure Jordin Sparks was on Grey's Anatomy's season finale last night. I swear there was something on the 'net that told me so.
Wrong.
Jurnee Smollett, of Eve's Bayou and more recently, The Great Debaters, played the brain tumor stricken character-not American Idol winnder Jordin Sparks. In fact, her character was the only one who survived the clinical trials of Meredith and Derek.
My bad.
So two bags of M& M's coming up!
....and I was SO sure!
Oh well.

Just when I thought it was over....
American Idol touches "Grey's Anatomy". I didn't realize Jordin Sparks would be guesting. I also didn't know she could act. Always felt she could sing.
Now, if you will excuse me, "Grey's" is the last 'new' show for this TV season. After that, back to reality of doing whatever I did before Dancing With the Stars, American Idol and Thursday night's TV line up required me to DVR stuff....oh yea....my dreams and passions of writing, reading and baking some pies....
Back to the show!
