Thoughts of Past Loves

The Holidays are pretty much right here.
Yep.

Especially since three Christmas movies, in the last three days, between Lifetime and Hallmark, danced their sugar plum sweetness in front of my eyes.  I've pondered over a past love.

Well, I thought he was a past love.

As time has marched on with twelve drummers drumming, I realize the guy-- no matter, how attracted I thought I was was to him, the guy really was a lump of coal in my stocking.

I mean, when the two of us first met, the guy was still legally married to his wife.  Only found out  that, when he was married to his second wife. It is funny, because at one point he was serious about marriage to me. Since we both loved to write, he believe we could back to our Midwest roots, live like Bohemians on no money, and bask in the growth of cornfields out our front door.

Some of the story IS true, however my dad's health was failing fast.  The guy knew how close I was to my dad.  He felt being close to my dad, even if we were dirt poor and watching corn grow would be good. Since I didn't know the guy was married (I had no reason too) I thought his heart was in the right place.

Of course, now,  I wonder how he would have pulled that off.  I thought more about this past love as I checked the Christmas movie guide.  The years passed and he says divorced has since happened with the second wife. I asked him why he wasn't honest about being married.

"It was how you interpreted it" he said.  Huh? Did I mention, we were in God's House, when I asked him?

As I chuckled, I told him to not say that.  Heck, he's the one the said he'd been married a year, six months in and six months to get out. I never saw evidence of a woman at his place. Never thought I needed to interrogate him. With five ladies pretty much dancing in his life, I told him he knew he was married and made a choice to not share that with me.

The guy apologized. Was he sincere? Maybe. The lump of coal relationship had red flags all over it, yet I chose to deny their wave in the breeze.

Times have changed.  I thank God for clearing out my head.  And I also think Hallmark and Lifetime for having a pretty good Christmas movie line up this year.

Pass the popcorn.

I tell ya what--I gotta maybe re-think this whole fancy book learnin' thing I got going on. I just took a Sociology test online. Not so good. I thought I'd answer all 50 questions.
Wrong.
I missed three questions. Somewhere in the middle of the pack. I had but 9 seconds to go. If  I'd gone back the WHOLE test would not have counted. Not enough time. Considering the grade I received--not sure it much matters. *sigh*
I know I must re-do my strategy. My impatience holds strong. I just want classes done.
This semester I took 4 classes. The beauty of that, they all started and ended at  different times. As of  today, I have successfully completed one class, while another class ends on Wednesday--and you know about my dropping of the Statistics class. So, all is left is the Sociology class I stunk up on the exam tonight.
Checked the syllabus, I have two more tests and I can try to get some extra credit.
Blue Bell Cookies n Cream Ice Cream calls my name. That is a test I know I can pass.
Stay tuned.
PS. The painted flower pot posted is a new creation----plastic. Those don't break in the mail. :)

I See You!

A few things happened since we last peaked in on you. For this post I will tell you about my decision to drop/withdraw from my Statistics class. Yep. I am working TOO hard to get a "D". Considering my last exam was another "F"--I think it's time to call it a day. Online classes are cool---however a math course was too extreme for me, and I like math. This is a required class so I MUST take it.  Yet I need to have someone stand in front of me to explain  why I should care about a binomial distribution in a random sample of 44 doctors, with the mean age of 43 to find the probability of how many doctors are 41.5 years old is really so important to me. Hence, I need to be able to see and say questions to the teacher. If all goes well, I hope to take a Statistics class in person starting January. After December, I will have 5-6 classes to finish my Bachelors in Sociology. For the future I've pondered the thought of a dual master's, or master's/doctorate and then I remember Statistics.  I wonder my probability of either one and the certificate I would love to get from Harvard.  Stay tuned.
