Stuff

On American Idol: Adam Lambert got my vote. Kris was good. No disrespect, yet that other final spot shoulda been Danny Gokey. My say: Adam wins tomorrow.

Waiting now for the winner of Dancing With the Stars: I hope Gilles. At the senior center I now am a member of, has ballroom lessons. I'm gonna give that a twirl.

And today, a woman I use to be pen pals with, starting in 1974, found me on Facebook! We lost touch about 2003, when I quit my other job. We'd e-mailed pretty regularly, after we found each other again. Never met. Were Osmonds fans, when she sent me that first letter. She lived in Hawaii and me in Iowa. We wrote for a long time and lost and found and lost and found and lost--yet found again. I hope for awhile this time. In 1974, stamps, I think, were 8 cents.

On top of all that
One more day closer to Friday.
Gotta love THAT!
I do.

Tuesday Turn Part II

American Idol.
Oh my. I know the singers are young--however, with ALL the movies ever made, none of them really, REALLY wowed me. Sure, Adam Lambert brought home "Born to Be Wild" and that was about it. Danny felt "Endless Love" yet I didn't. His version did nothing for me, just like the original Lionel Richie and Diana Ross 80's did nothing for me back in the day. Sorry. And Allison-- just can't be 16!--however, to me, she did not sound her usual great. I thought she sounded horrible. I wonder if the judges will hear a difference when they watch it back? But for Lil Rounds, my heart breaks. I'm with Simon words about her. I loved her at the beginning....Lil, you either you sing "The Rose" straight or do it all the way R & B/gospel. The two didn't mesh. I hoped Lil would have just stood and sang Beyonce's "Listen" from Dreamgirls. To show off her pipes and finally have her moment!

My opinion: Bottom Two will be Lil Rounds (for her added 'tude) and Kris (for a song nobody's heard)

Dancing With the Stars: I called THAT! Bye bye, Steve-O!

Wednesday Walk Wept

American Idol. I am so OK with Alexis Grace going home. At first, I really did like Alexis, then the whole "Dirty Diana" and her personality--well, was quite dull. Heck, you're in front of a gazillion people, so possibly being a little stiff with nerves could happen. I would just fall to the ground. And it wasy toooooooooo early for the judges to use their one 'save' vote.

Natasha Richardson. I'm not so OK with her going Home, yet I must be. My prayers for her and family. Heaven has a new star in its chorus of angels.

The Results....with a Twist

OK. The judges can use their veto power just once? Hmm. All that hot air Ryan Seacrest blew is what he said? Just once? I thought it meant one vote reversal for which ever contestant got the audience's boot. That kinda made more sense. Personally, I would have liked to see what Jorge had more of.

Anyway Jasmine and Jorge. The two J's gone. I'm OK with that. My faves are: Danny Gokey, Allison the 16 year old, Michael the Oil Rigger guy, and a real distant fave, , Adam 'the Goth' Lambert.

Also tonight so confirmed I am so not into wrap. I watched (heard?) all of Kanye West's song. First of all, is what Kanya does considered singing? I'm sure the guy is talented. I do know he's easy on the eyes, however, I really didn't get where Kanye was coming from. I may need the youngest member of my writers' group, "T" break it down for me. I guess I'm a bit more old school than I thought.

In the meantime a cat awaitsand a couple spoonfuls of ice cream call my name.

American Idol and Michael Jackson

Uh. Yea.

OK.
After I get over the fact the Top 13 were either babes in swaddling clothes, toddlers or not even born yet when "Thiller" made us listen to music in a whole 'nother way-I gotta be honest, none of the Top 13 blew me away to any new Corner of the Sky.

If I had to like somebody, because I wouldn't get any Blue Bell Cookies n Cream Ice Cream if I didn't: Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and last: Adam Lambert. While everybody seem to give Adam a beaded glove, I felt there were times Adam screamed "Black and White." I bet they hear that when they play it back.

I can't believe Allison is 16. Good Rocker. However, can she do anything else?

But Danny--unless, he messes up along the way--this is his thing to lose.

...and Anoop Desai--such a sweetheart. Hope he gets another chance.

In the meantime, Anoop and everybody else, click on the link to see how "Beat It" was and still should be done by Michael Jackson....when, well--before faces and things changed.

Gotta get my Blue Bell Cookies n Cream Ice Cream.

And Corner of the Sky? Um. Yea. A song from the Broadway show 'Pippin' and that the Jackson 5 turned into a single. A vinyl 45. Which I had. Cue it up.

Results: American Idol and Today

The Top 12's first three are set. And I'm quite OK with America's choice. Granted, I wanted Steve Fowler to make it. However, maybe with the Wildcard show. My clear first place fave is Danny Gokey. There's just something about him. I like his look. Yes, he has a story--the passing of his wife. Yet there's something. And I do like Alexis Grace. Her pipes bring it on home. Michael Sarver has to step it up. Maybe just nerves when he sang again tonight. Like him. Didn't like the performance. Should I mention Tatiana? She does have a good voice--yet was she the only one in tears? Flippin' her hair and trying to strike a pose? Hmm. Tatiana is probably a nice and sweet young lady. Her dream wasn't held in our hands--Tatiana ought to look up to the hills to see where her strength comes from.

Results from today. One more day closer to Movie Man leaving. The word is getting around. I do believe folks are surprised. I'm surprised too. I knew there would be day we'd part ways--work wise anyway--kinda like where did the almost six years go? Oh well. Maybe with us not seeing each other as much, we'll get racquetball back on the dance card....and oh wait.....ball room dancing....oh hold on....maybe the penny slots at the casino.....or better yet....cake and coffee at Celebrity Bakery.

Regardless, results are in: Pleased.

American Idol First Night

Indeed I watched.

For me, the guys were stronger. My faves are: Steve Fowler (I wasn't too thrilled about that whole Michael Jackson thing either), Danny Gokey (he looked pretty hot without those glasses), and Michael Sarver (not the best song, yet I like him-and he's from Texas). As for the females--the only on that stood out in a positive way: Alexis Grace--I really liked her. Who should go? Just about all the rest of the girls, especially Tatiana Del Toro. Some parts of song were good, yet when she spoke, I wasn't really feelin' doing a latte with her. Not likable. I don't hold her dream in my hand.
So the first night of American Idol is in the books.

I had my popcorn.

And I'll have more popcorn as the weeks go on.
All is good.
