Just like this video. Makes me smile. The cup of talent runneth over--lots in this. Imagine, back in the day, to spend a Friday night- just to hang out with these guys? This video is from June 1965, when Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and yes, Johnny Carson, along with Sammy Davis Jr perform a benefit for March of Dimes, in St. Louis. The song, The Birth of the Blues, is a classic by Sammy, especially when done solo. Yet there's something about this performance. Dean, Frank, Johnny and Sammy. So vibrant and so much fun. How can you NOT smile? To be reminded of how it was. What a Friday night could really be.
