Movie Man I played racquetball at High Noon today. Says he feels joy as he sees my technique improve. I didn’t need 911. Good improvement for me. Movie Man made me work the room. Said I gave up on some shots. Well, sure, because he didn’t put the ball in a spot where I was SURE to hit it! Instructed me how to think about where the ball should go instead of just “can I hit it?” Our games go to 21. Did I mention he spotted me 14 pts and gave me two serves to his one?
Still I lost. Every game.
Nonetheless, Movie Man says I’ve gotten better. I know it can’t be that much fun for him, since I’m not quite on his level. Yet, he’s been patient—he’s had too. Movie Man is headed to his best friend’s wedding in Orlando tomorrow, He’ll gone for the week. So no racquetball next Saturday, unless I get another chum to go.
Wait-Saturday is the book club I’m hosting in which I need to finish the book. Just about 300 pages to go. Before I tackle that, I need some ice cream and watch Friday’s episode of Young and the Restless…...
