Friday Fine Scent

More roses from my backyard.
Gorgeous.
Lived in this house since '08 and the blooms are the most bountiful than I have ever seen! Makes me wonder if the flowers finally got use to me?  Or perhaps my lawnmower guys pruned the bushes?  Might be a bit of both. Just know I love the flowers in my yard.  Even this little guy:
The backyard is the reason I fell in love with this house.
A house so stuck in 1975.
One of these days, I will finally get round to paint the walls--
In the meantime, I will continue to bask in my waltz with a rose.
Stay tuned.

Shine On

This is one of the views from my backyard. Got up and headed to my church, Inspiring Body of Christ, with a bit of curiosity. Today was the first Sunday, for at least a month, Pastor Rickie Rush would not be there to deliver the Message. Pastor Rush underwent spinal surgery earlier this week. To get to his issue, the surgeons would go thru Pastor Rush's esophagus and vocal chords.

Pastor is on the mend, and I need not have worried about today. Service was great--with 200+ men being the choir and Rev. Glen Jones brought the Message on home! He spoke how were are in the process of a promise. Once again the Message was right on time!

As for this picture, it does let me know where my strength comes from....

I am blessed.

...and then what happened...

I was about to leave work-drained, wondering when I was going to really become 'one' with the new job. I'm almost there, not all the way, but almost. Looking back at last week, I already know more this week. Then it hit me--I still had school work when I got home.

Not feelin' that. To be in front of PC all day, then come home and straight away be in front of it again? Naw. I shoulda gone to the gym to get back in working out. Nope. What I did do, was lie down for few moments. More like an hour. Watched the news. Pet a cat. Popped my coumadin pill. Then I got up, put my food in the oven and out the door I went. .

What did I do? I got bit my a zillion 'skeeters and whatever else pops up out of the grass to feast on my legs and watered my backyard. I have sprinklers in the front but not in the back. The whole process was relaxing. Except for scratching my legs where critters bit me. Four of my houseful of cats decided to step out side. For one, it was his first time to venture out the door. And he'll be 3 years old on June 12. He didn't stay too long and wanted to go back and guard the house from the inside. The other three chomped grass while the weenie dogs next door watched them and the birds waited for them to go inside so they could munch at their own feeders. .

After all that, I ate my grub, caught up with my soap, pet another cat--and decided to do some school work. Got that done and once again. sighed a relief this class is over Monday. I also realized if I had to attend campus classes after work --oh my, I may have dropped most of it.

Any I could go on, alas Blue Bell Vanilla Cookies n Cream Ice Cream awaits. Priorities...

Salty Sunday

This photo is from yesterday and is my backyard. I bought this house for the very reason I didn't want in a house--a yard. OK--moving on...

During today's service, from the book of St. Matthew, Chapter 5, at Inspiring Body of Christ Church, with Pastor Rickie Rush, at one point, all sanctuary lights were off and nothing but a sea of cell phone lights could be seen. It tied to the message how we are the light--and let it glow for all to see. Trust me--it worked. Plus, how we are the salt aka the seasoning--to make the world around us tolerable. When we lose that flavor, all becomes worthless and salt gets trampled. This message hit me on all cylinders. I've felt lost, impatient for a variety of reasons. I wondered if I'd run out of toilet paper, since it seems I'd been in the toilet so long. Today's message helped lots. Pastor Rush reminded us, we could be running hurdles with folks that actually slow us down, even tho it looks like we win the race. That part is hard for me. Some folks are in my life, are those I love--yet at the same time, I get drained. I don't seem to run as fast. Quit running against people, because time runs regardless. I have friends who knew me way back when, and aren't too comfy when I speak of The Word...oh well. I make no apologies.

On this Sunday, the sun shines. Cats in open windows. Got to finish my last paper for my first college class that ends tomorrow. Then I ponder: can I really write 50,000 for my first draft of my novella by my birthday? (which is April 8th, to the rest of the world....) Lastly, I'm going to fry some chicken using some Southwest Ranch Salad Dressing, after I season it a bit with salt and pepper--Yep, you're right, I have NO idea how it's gonna turn out. But ya can't really ruin chicken...can you?

Stay tuned.

Besides Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and a pint of fresh strawberries ease any woes...

I am blessed.
