I was asked if I planned to see "The Karate Kid" starring Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.
That would be..wait for it...a NO. Before people are like, "How can you not?" Well, I can real easy. First, I never saw the 'classic' Karate Kid flicks back in 80's, and I even had real big crush on Ralph Macchio then. Granted the originals are now running on Showtime or Encore or both--so maybe. Yet, maybe more not really.
Jaden Smith was on Letterman Thursday night. He looks so much like his Dad. He was an 11 year old. And OK, I expected him to be cute. Well, Jaden is a kid and a kid is still a kid. I think he took Dave off guard by sitting as far away from him as possible. Dave asked if Jaden was scared of him. Maybe Dave hopped he'd be having a fun interview with a Mini-Will. In all honestly I thought so too. Jaden looks so much like like his Dad, yet reminds me of his mom, Jada when she gives interviews--they're hard for me to watch.
Now, I know some folks will be all over me. And that's OK. Just don't use the kung fu, Jaden uses in the movie, instead of the karate Jaden doesn't use, yet the movie is named after, on me.
