Reported today The Queen of Soul was diagnosed with cancer. Pancreatic cancer to be precise. The same evil that took Patrick Swayze. So far, at the time I type this, it has not been confirmed. The National Enquirer says so--and I never want to believe them.
A few years ago, Aretha was here in Dallas. I won tickets to her concert and went by myself. Any friend I asked was like, "I'd go, but...." whatever. Aretha put on a good show, yet she didn't sing a song I wanted her to sing. And for right now, I can't remember what it was. What I do recall, the next day I found out her Detroit home burned the night before.
Rumors have Aretha less than a year to live. I pray this not to be so.
I want to see Aretha on stage, on TV--somewhere--doing what she's done with the gift God gave her for these decades--gracing us to bridge us over any troubled waters...

Think A Bit
I tell ya, I am FRIED tonight! Today was Day 4 of our 3 week training. All whipped we were at day's end. Why? Tis our first time in the foray of the systems we will soon be using.
OH MY! Yes, it gave itself root for ice cream tonight. It was fun, and we all were helping each other--but it also showed us we got a ways to go. Our trainers are both quite good--although one needs to loosen up a bit. Wears his thoughts all over his face. I thought it was just me that thought that.
Nope. He's a nice guy, but the other trainer is more at ease and fun and makes the boring-est stuff fun.
Anyhoo--to be past all that, got my paper done and turned in for my college course, got trash by the curb, doing American Idol and will dig into my Blue Bell Strawberry and Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream.
Life is good.
One of the girl's last night sang "Think" on American Idol. Her last note was the best. She did her best, yet the Queen Aretha does "Think" a bit more better...
