...And The Oscar Goes To (II)

Oscar Host Hugh Jackman.

No joke. I actually liked the guy. More impressed than I thought I ever would be. Enjoyed and smiled during the opening number. All seemed to have fun. Ben Stiller came out as Joaquin Phoenix with gum on the podium---PRICELESS. The Oscars tried to be hip. It didn't seem as stogy as past years. Was it perfect? Naw. With five past winners announced the five nominees, I feared it would be five EVERYTHING, and show wouldn't end until 2 am. Lasted three and a half hours. Not bad. Queen Latifa needs to fire the person who dresses her. This is the second time I saw her in an unbecoming dress--the first being the Kennedy Honors. Yet, her voice was in fine form. I still do wish Mickey Rourke would have won. Oh well.

A chum sent an e-mail, how she had one of the happiest days of her life this weekend. Her grand kids and family produced such joy. It's one of those moments, I realize I never planned to be this age and not have a kid or two in tow. Like where did time just zip by and now I look at my invitation to join AARP? All in all, I'm glad my chum is happy. We all make choices--good and bad--that's how we get to this moment. Choices dictate our destiny.

Too bad, Eddie Murphy didn't think destiny when he chose to release "Norbit" during the Oscar voting process when he was nominated Best Supporting Actor for "Dreamgirls."

I digress.

Personally, I plan to still have me a lot more destiny.
Get my envelope ready.
