It's January, right? Sure, it's about 45 degrees out--kinda nippy, yet I cracked a couple windows--just to get some fresh air. Cats are loving that. But dandelions?
I looked at them, basked in their sun colored glory, then glanced at my bare pecan tree. My pecan tree, I was so giddy about. Only picked up a handful of pecans during the Fall. For to wait for that first chill, as a co-worker suggested. When that first chill happened, the pecans on the ground were GONE. I had gazillions, now gone. I wondered if the guys who mow my lawn took em, or the squirrels, or the tree rats (that's what I call em) got hold. I was bummed. No pecans, but I do have dandelions.
Hmm. Can Spring really be that far away?

I saw something on one of the educational channels about pecan trees. Research them, as I think they don't have a particularly good crop..can't recall why, for a few years.
45 is dreamlike. It is 8 degrees here in Chicago!
On my pecans, when I moved here in 2008, I didn't pay any attention to the tree--just a BIG tree. Then this year, I noticed 'green' things on it, as I googled:PECANS. The tree was covered. And they began falling to the ground. On side of the tree, there were dozens on the grown. I planned to put them with others I'd picked up. That morning, my lawn guys came. The next mornng, I got up before church to pick em up. GONE. LAter on this year, I'll pay more attention! :)
