The 2nd Anniversary

....of my heart valve replacement surgery. My scar just itched to remind me what we both went through. I woke up at 3:50 that Tuesday afternoon, with a hose down my throat. I had to let my blood pressure lower, so the hose could be yanked up. My patience received a true test that day--and for more to come. I dozed off and on in ICU. "American Idol" was on, but I missed most of it. I could just stay on my back. Would I ever be able to sleep on my side again? Two years ago. I wasn't sure how my life would go---would I have any descent quality of life? Unsure. Some scared.

I remembered my favorite scripture: Psalms 50:15. God wants us to promise to give Him all our troubles, and He will rescue us. All we do is give Him glory.

Two years later, I await to close on my first home, Monday at High Noon. My health is great. I have cats to pet. Ice cream to eat. Friends and family to love and they love me back. It's been a journey. One I wouldn't wish on anyone.

However, my relationship with God is deeper. With Him I can do all things. He's been patient with me. He waited for me to get to the point to turn to Him. He made sure I rested. He has plans for me, and I must be ready.
